Calgary road closures - January 17, 2014

Northwest

Memorial Drive will be reduced to one lane in each direction at 5A Street N.W. from Friday, January 17 at 7 p.m. until Sunday, January 19 at 10 p.m. due to construction.

Northeast

The right lane on westbound Memorial Drive will be closed at 12 Street N.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Friday, January 17 to Tuesday, January 21 due to construction.

The right lane on westbound Memorial Drive will be closed at Zoo Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Friday, January 17 to Thursday, January 23 due to construction.

Southwest

The sidewalk on 4 Street S.W. will be closed between 25 Avenue S.W. and Elbow Drive on Saturday, January 18 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. due to building construction.

2 Avenue S.W. between 5 Street S.W. and 6 Street S.W. will be closed from 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 16 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 19 due to building construction.

16 Street S.W. will be closed between 40 Avenue S.W. and 42 Avenue S.W. from 9 a.m. on Friday, January 17 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 19 due to utility work.

5 Avenue S.W. be reduced to two lanes between 3 Street S.W. and 4 Street S.W. from 6 a.m. on Saturday, January 18 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 19 due to construction.

11 Avenue S.W. will be closed between 1 Street S.W. and 2 Street S.W. on Saturday, January 18 from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. due to building construction.

There will be various lane closures at Centre Street and 7 Avenue S.W. on Monday, January 20 from 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. due to traffic signal work.

There will be various lane closures at Centre Street and 5 Avenue S.W. on Monday, January 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. due to traffic signal work.

2 Street S.W. will be closed between 13 Avenue S.W. and 14 Avenue S.W. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Monday, January 20 to Wednesday, January 29 due to utility work.

Southeast

5 Avenue S.E. will be reduced to two lanes between Centre Street and 1 Street S.E. from 7 a.m. on Saturday, January 18 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 19 due to utility work.

Eastbound 17 Avenue S.E. will be reduced to one lane between 19 Street S.E. and Deerfoot Trail from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Monday, January 20 to Friday, January 24.

Northbound and southbound Blackfoot Trail south of Heritage Drive will be reduced to one lane in each direction and the speed lowered to 50 km/h from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, January 18 to allow for overhead utility work. Crews will be on site to stop all northbound and southbound traffic as required, while the overhead lines are removed across roadway. Expect delays.

Eastbound and westbound Heritage Drive east of Blackfoot Trail will be reduced to one lane in each direction and the speed lowered to 50 km/h from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, January 18 to allow for overhead utility work. Crews will be on site to stop all eastbound and westbound traffic as required, while the overhead lines are removed across roadway. Expect delays.

The left lane of eastbound Memorial Drive will be closed at Barlow Trail from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Monday, January 13 to Friday, January 24 due to construction.

The left lane on westbound Memorial Drive will be closed at 28 Street S.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Monday, January 13 to Friday, January 24 due to construction.

There will be various lane closures on 53 Avenue between 4 Street S.E. and 6 Street S.E.  At this time 53 Avenue will be reduced to one lane and workers will be directing traffic through alternating westbound and eastbound lane closures from Thursday, January 9 to Saturday, January 25 due to utility work.

The left lane on 1 Street S.E. will be closed between 17 Avenue S.E. and 18 Avenue S.E. from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily from Saturday, January 18 to Sunday, January 19 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Monday, January 20 to Friday, January 24 due to building construction.

Westbound 6 Avenue S.E. will be reduced to one lane between 3 Street S.E. and Macleod Trail on Saturday, January 18 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. due to utility work.

5 Street S.E. between 51 Avenue and 53 Avenue S.E. will be closed from 8 a.m. Monday, January 20 to 5 p.m. Saturday, January 25 due to utility work. Traffic will be detoured to 4 Street S.E. to bypass the construction. Local business access will be maintained.
