Calgary road closures - August 6, 2014
Northeast
There will be various lane closures on 36 Street N.E. between 16 Avenue N.E. and 32 Avenue N.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily beginning Friday, August 1 until Tuesday, September 5 due to curb rehabilitation and paving.
20 Avenue N.E. will be closed at Edmonton Trail from Friday, August 1 to Saturday, August 9 due to work related to the Edmonton Trail road reconstruction project. Traffic will be detoured to 19 Avenue N.E. Local traffic will be maintained from the east.
24 Avenue N.E. will be closed at Edmonton trail from Tuesday, August 5 to Thursday, August 14 due to work related to the Edmonton Trail road reconstruction project. Traffic will be detoured to 23 Avenue N.E. Local traffic will be maintained from the east.
The intersection of Skyview Ranch Road and 128 Avenue N.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction starting Monday, July 28 until September 30 for utility work.
17 Avenue N.E. and 18 Avenue N.E. are closed at Edmonton Trail until late August due to the Edmonton Trail road reconstruction project.
Northwest
Northbound Crowchild Trail will be reduced to one lane at University Drive N.W. from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly until Sunday, August 31 due to bridge deck repairs.
The right lanes on north and southbound Northland Drive N.W. will be closed throughout the summer due to bike lane improvements and road repaving.
Symons Valley Road is completely closed between 144 Avenue N.W. and Sage Meadow Circle. This closure is expected to last until December 2014. During this time, all heavy truck traffic will be detoured to Shaganappi Trail, and local traffic will be detoured via Sage Hill Drive to 144 Avenue N.W. Visit the webpage for further information.
Southeast
There will be various lane closures on Cushing Bridge (17 Avenue S.E. between 19 Street S.E. and Deerfoot Trail) from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly beginning Tuesday, August 5 until Friday, August 8 due to bridge rehabilitation work. At this time speed in the area will be reduced to 50 km/h.
The two centre lanes will be closed on 5 Avenue at Centre Street until Sunday, August 17 due to utility work. At this time the crosswalk on the west side of Centre Street will be closed.
There will be various lane closures on 6 Avenue between 1 Street S.E. and Centre Street and on Centre Street at 6 Avenue from 6 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5 to 6 a.m. on Monday, August 18 due to utility work.
Westbound 130 Avenue S.E. will be closed between 52 Street S.E. and Copperpond Boulevard S.E. until Thursday, September 18 due to major utility work. The speed limit in the area will be reduced to 50 km/h. Residents are advised to use McIvor Boulevard S.E. to 52 Street S.E.
Glenmore Trail will be reduced to two lanes in each direction east of Blackfoot Trail from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly from Tuesday, August 5 to Thursday, August 7 due to road work.
5 Street S.E. will be closed between 8 Avenue and 9 Avenue S.E. until August 17 for East Village construction.
There are various lane closures on 9 Avenue S.E. between 3 Street S.E. and 6 Street S.E. until the end of August. There are also various closures on 6 Street S.E. between 9 Avenue and 6 Avenue S.E. for East Village construction.
Southwest
NEW: There will be various lane closures on westbound Glenmore Trail between Richard Road S.W. and 37 Street S.W. from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. beginning Wednesday, August 6 until Tuesday, August 12 due to road work.
The sidewalk on the west side of Centre Street will be closed between 6 Avenue and 7 Avenue from 8 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5 to 6 p.m. on Friday, August 8 due to building construction. Local pedestrian access will be maintained.
The two centre lanes on 5 Avenue S.W. between 1 Street S.W. and Centre Street will be closed until Sunday, August 17 due to utility work.
The speed will be reduced to 50 km/h on southbound Ogden Road at 50 Avenue S.E. while crews work on flood recovery work. This work will be ongoing until August 14. Watch for flagmen.
- Southbound 14 Street S.W. will be closed between 10 Avenue S.W. and 17 Avenue S.W. until Sunday, September 7 due to road resurfacing. Two-way traffic will be allowed in the northbound lanes at this time.
The left lane and sidewalk are closed on 11 Avenue S.W. between 11 Street S.W. and 12 Street S.W. until Tuesday, September 30 due to building construction.

At this time parking in the affected areas will be restricted.

- 33 Avenue S.W. will be closed between 19 Street S.W. and 22 Street S.W.
- 34 Avenue S.W. will be closed between 19 Street S.W. and 21 Street S.W.
- 19 Street S.W. will be closed between 32 Avenue S.W. and 35 Avenue S.W.
- 20 Street S.W. will be closed between 32 Avenue S.W. and 35 Avenue S.W.
- 21 Street S.W. will be closed between 32 Avenue S.W. and 34 Avenue S.W.
Saturday, August 9 from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- 1 Street S.E. will be closed between Riverfront Avenue S.E. and 4 Avenue S.E.
- 2 Avenue S.E. will be closed between Centre Street and Riverfront Avenue S.E.
- 3 Avenue S.E. will be closed from Centre Street to 1 Street S.E.
Please obey all temporary traffic controls. Police will be on-site to monitor traffic.
