Calgary road closures - April 18 - 20, 2015

ALERT: Southbound Deerfoot Trail between 17 Avenue S.E. and Glenmore Trail S.E. will be closed on Sunday, April 19, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Monday, April 20. This closure will allow the province to perform street sweeping on Deerfoot Trail. Traffic will be detoured, use alternate routes and expect delays.

Northeast

NEW: The left-turn lane of southbound 36 Street N.E. at 32 Avenue N.E. will be closed beginning at 2 a.m. on Saturday, April 18. This closure remains in place until 4 a.m. on Monday, April 20 and accommodates construction.

NEW: The left-turn lane of southbound 36 Street N.E. at 12 Avenue N.E. will be closed beginning at 2 a.m. on Saturday, April 18. This closure remains in place until 4 a.m. on Monday, April 20 and accommodates construction.

NEW: The right lane of northbound 36 Street N.E. at Rundlehorn Drive N.E. will be closed between 2:30 a.m and 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 18. This closure accommodates construction.

NEW: The left lane of northbound Barlow Trail N.E. at Sunridge Way N.E. will be closed and speed will be reduced to 50 km/ hr. between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 18. This closure accommodates manhole repair.

NEW: Northbound 36 Street N.E. north of 24 Avenue N.E. will be reduced to a single lane of traffic beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, April 20. This closure will remain in place until 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 10 and accommodates construction.

NEW: The right lane of southbound 19 Street N.E. will be closed at 16 Avenue N.E. between 10 p.m. on Sunday, April 19 and 5 a.m. on Monday, April 20. This closure accommodates utility work.

NEW: 10 Street North will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 10 street and 11 Avenue N.E. for emergency water main break from 6 a.m. Saturday, April 18 until Sunday, April 19 at 6 p.m.

Update: The right lane of northbound Metis Trail N.E. north of Country Hills Boulevard N.E. is closed and speed is reduced to 50 km/hr. beginning at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14. There will be intermittent closures on Metis Trail N.E. throughout the week until 3 p.m. on Monday, April 20 and accommodates utility work.

Southbound 36 Street N.E. between 5 Avenue N.E. and 8 Avenue N.E. is reduced to a single left lane beginning at 11 p.m. on Friday, April 17. This closure will remain in place until 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 18 and will accommodate work on the Marlborough C-Train station.

9 Street N.E. at McPherson Road N.E. is closed beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 13. McDougall Road N.E. between 9 Street N.E. and 9A Street N.E. is also closed. Detour signage will be set up in the area. This closure remains in place until 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 18 and accommodates construction.

Northbound Edmonton Trail N.E. is reduced to a single lane of traffic at 4 Avenue N.E. beginning 9 a.m. on Monday, April 13. This closure will remain in place until 3 p.m. on Friday, April 22 and accommodates construction.

Northwest

Southbound 10 Street N.W. at 2 Avenue N.W. is reduced to a single left lane. This closure remains in place until the end of April and accommodates new development construction.

Eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. will be reduced to one lane east of Sarcee Trail N.W. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily on weekdays until the end of April due to utility work.

Southeast

NEW: 94 Avenue S.E. between 52 Street S.E. and 60 Street S.E. will be closed beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, April 20. The closure will remain in place until 8.pm. on Friday, July 31 and accommodates new road construction.

NEW: Eastbound Glenmore Trail S.E. between Ogden Road S.E. / Shepard Road S.E. and 30 Street S.E. is closed between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 19. Traffic will be detoured to 114 Avenue S.E. via Shepard Road S.E. to bypass construction. Alternate routes are recommended and motorists are advised to expect delays.

Westbound 9 Avenue S.E. between 3 Street S.E. and 4 Street S.E. is closed beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 17. This closure will remain in place until 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 19 and accommodates utility work.

Northbound Flint Road S.E. at Fielding Drive S.E. is closed beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 17. This closure remains in place until 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 19 and accommodates Water Services utility work. Motorists are advised to use Fairmount Drive S.E. as an alternate route.

Westbound Glenmore Trail S.E. west of Ogden Road S.E. / Shepard Road S.E. will be closed to allow for utility installations between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. nightly beginning Wednesday, April 15. This closure remains in place during these hours until Sunday, April 19 at 5 a.m. Traffic will be directed to the south side of Glenmore Trail S.E. and reduced to a single-lane in each direction with a speed reduction to 50 km/hr. In addition, no left turns will be allowed from either direction of Glenmore Trail S.E. onto Ogden Road S.E. / Shepard Road S.E. during this time. Alternate routes are recommended, and motorists are advised to expect delays.

Southbound Bow Bottom Trail S.E. between 137 Avenue S.E. and 146 Avenue S.E. will be reduced to a single lane beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, April 6. This closure remains in place until 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 19 and accommodates water service utility work.

Westbound lane closures resume across the Graves Bridge on Glenmore Trail S.E. over the Bow River, west of 18 Street S.E. beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, March 30. A single westbound left lane closure and 60 km/hr speed reduction will be in place 24/7 and multiple westbound lane closures will occur during evenings and weekends. Eastbound lane closures will no longer be required. This work will continue throughout the month of April and accommodates water services utility work.

4 Street S.E. is reduced to one lane in each direction between 9 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. until September 30. This closure is needed to facilitate the construction of the +60 pedestrian bridge at the National Music Centre.

Southwest

NEW: Alternating closures on 11 Street S.W. at 8 Avenue S.W. between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. beginning Friday, April 17. Alternating closures will continue on weekdays during these hours until Friday, May 8 and accommodate utility work.

NEW: 6 Avenue S.W. between 1 Street S.W. and 2 Street S.W. is reduced to a single lane beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 17. This closure remains in place until 6 a.m. on Monday, April 20 and accommodates construction.

Southbound 12 Street S.W. between 15 Avenue S.W. and 16 Avenue S.W. is completely closed to traffic beginning at 7 a.m. on Thursday, April 16. This closure will remain in place until 9 p.m. on Sunday, May 8 and accommodates Enmax utility work.

Southbound 1 Street S.W. will be reduced to one lane between 9 Avenue S.W. and 10 Avenue S.W. starting Sunday, January 25 to accommodate the 1 Street S.W. underpass enhancement project. At the same time the sidewalk on southbound 1 Street S.W. will be closed. Pedestrians should use the sidewalk on the east side of 1 Street S.W. These closures will be in place until the work on the west side of the underpass is complete.
