Calgary Fire Responds To Two Alarm Fire in the North West

Just before 7:00 P.M this evening the Calgary Fire Department responded to the 100 block of Citadel Green N.W. for reports of a building fire. Due to the volume of smoke visible the proximity to other structures and number of calls to the Dispatch Centre a second alarm was requested by primary responding resources before arrival. Once on scene first arriving crews reported a well developed fire showing from the garage area at the front of the two story single family home and started applying large volumes of water to the fire while conducting a primary search for occupants of the home. The search revealed that all occupants had egressed the structure safely and the fire was quickly brought under control. No injuries are reported and the Calgary Fire Department remains on scene conducting overhaul operations and preliminary investigations . Traffic in the area has returned to normal and Fire Department personnel will remain on scene throughout the evening.
