Calgary Fire Department fights two alarm blaze in Arbour Lake

At approximately 12:15 this afternoon, 911 received multiple calls regarding a house fire on Arbour Stone Rise N.W. Firefighters could see flames and smoke from several blocks away and immediately called for a second alarm. Upon arrival, the house was fully involved with fire, resulting in the decision to fight the fire defensively and keep fire from spreading to neighbouring homes. Once the fire was under control, firefighters searched the basement and main floor of the home finding no occupants. Due to structural concerns, the second floor has not yet been searched. Neighbouring homes were evacuated as a precaution and sustained some minor fire damage to the vinyl siding. A tenant who lives in the basement is unaccounted for and it is unknown if he was home at the time of the fire. No injuries have been reported as a result of this fire and a Calgary Fire Department Fire Investigator is on scene to determine the origin and cause of the fire. Anyone who has early photos or videos of this fire is asked to send  them to piofire@calgary.ca to assist in the investigation.
