31 charges laid in Guns and Gangs Unit investigation

The Calgary Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit has laid 31 criminal code charges against seven individuals in relation to a search warrant that was executed earlier this week.

It is believed that at approximately 1:45 a.m., on Saturday Feb. 20, 2016, a serious assault occurred outside a business in the 4800 block of Macleod Trail S.W.

A short time later at approximately 3 a.m., police were called to a residence in the 0-100 block of Marthas Place N.E., for reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found bullet holes in the front wall of the residence. Four residents were home at the time of the shooting, but were uninjured.
