Vehicle Collision - North Glenmore Park

At approximately 1445 hours a minor injury collision occurred in the parking lot of North Glenmore Park. A 2001 black Nissan Xterra, , driven by a 88 year old female was attempting to park in the handicap parking stall. The Nissan did not stop when it came to the curb and continued over the curb and up on to the grass boulevard. The Nissan bent over a handicap sign and continued over the pathway and over the embankment. The Nissan went over the embankment still on its wheels until coming to a drop off, where the Nissan pitched forward onto its front grille. The Nissan then flipped onto its roof and slid down the bank to the shore of the Glenmore Reservoir.

CFD extricated the driver, who was transported to the Foothills Medical Center and treated for minor injuries.

The Calgary Police Service is investigating. Neither speed nor alcohol is believed to be

factors.
