Fifth Safer Calgary – Operation Order continues coordinated response to crime and social disorder
On Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2026, we continued our efforts to address crime and social disorder in Calgary through our fifth Operation Order.
Throughout the day, Calgary Police Service officers worked alongside Calgary Community Safety, Transit Public Safety, the Alberta Sheriffs, Emergency Health Services Alberta, and community agencies to enforce laws and bylaws, execute outstanding warrants, engage with businesses and community members and connect individuals with services and supports.
“There is no single police operation that will solve the complex challenges we are seeing in our city, but stepping back and simply accepting crime and social disorder is not an option,” says Chief Katie McLellan. “When enforcement is necessary, we will take action. When there is an opportunity to connect someone with supports that can help move them toward greater stability, we will do that as well. We will continue working with our partners to find the most effective ways to address these concerns and make Calgary safer.”
“Calgarians deserve to feel safe in the communities and public spaces they use every day,” says Mike Ellis, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Services. “Operations like these, led by the Calgary Police Service, with support from Alberta Sheriffs and other partners, demonstrate the importance of working together to address crime and social disorder, while also connecting people with the services and supports they need.”
“Public safety is fundamental to a strong and vibrant city,” says Mayor Jeromy Farkas. “Through Safer Calgary – Operation Order, we are seeing police, city, provincial and community partners working side-by-side to address the concerns Calgarians are experiencing in their communities. These ongoing, coordinated efforts are an important part of keeping Calgary safe for everyone.”

Operation Order is part of our broader approach to public safety and has been complemented by more sustained initiatives, including Safer Calgary – Operation CERTainty and the recently concluded Operation Restore. Each initiative is designed to address public safety concerns through different levels of focused and sustained activity.
