Update: Serious-Injury Collision in Douglasdale

Unfortunately, the pedestrian injured in this morning's collision in Douglasdale, has succumbed to his injuries.

The Calgary Police Service Traffic Section is investigating a serious-injury collision in the community of Douglasdale.
 
At approximately 6:45 a.m., emergency crews were called to Douglasdale Boulevard and Douglas Woods Way S.E., for reports of a man struck by a vehicle.
 
Witnesses told investigators the pedestrian was walking in a marked crosswalk when one vehicle stopped to allow him to across. A second vehicle pulled out from behind the stopped vehicle and struck the pedestrian.
 
The victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was interviewed by investigators.
 
It is believed driver inattention played a role in this collision. Charges are pending.
