Update: 17 Avenue Utility Repair and Road Restrictions

City Water crews are nearing completion of the utility work on 17 Avenue near 14 Street SW. Once the utilities are repaired, the excavation will then be backfilled and then re-paved.

At this time, it is expected that paving will begin around noon.

Later today, paving will appear to be complete. A period of several hours of cooling is required for the pavement to cure properly. The road will only

be re-opened once the cooling period is complete. This will likely be in the early evening, after the evening rush period.

17 Avenue will remain fully closed until that time.

Like yesterday and today, motorists are encouraged to use other routes.
