UPDATE - Suspicious Death Investigation

The Homicide Unit continues to investigate a suspicious death that occurred earlier this morning.

Just after 3 a.m., today, Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, police were called to the 1400 block of 8 Street N.W. for a report of gunshots. Upon arrival, a man in his 20s was found deceased in the alley. 

At this time, this is not believed to be a random incident, however, investigators are working to determine a motive and a suspect description.

This incident is not believed to be linked to the shooting that occurred yesterday in Killarney, but the investigation continues.  

The victim’s identity will be released pending completion of an autopsy scheduled for Monday, Jan. 5, 2014.
