Traffic Fatality
A man critically injured in a collision late last year has died.
At approximately 1:50 p.m., on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, police responded to a three-vehicle collision in the intersection of 52 Street and Madigan Drive N.E.
As a result of the collision, Jerjes Bou ATIA, 33, of Calgary, sustained severe injuries and had to be cut from his vehicle. Unfortunately, ATIA passed away in hospital on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012.
Pamela POLKINGHORNE, 48, of Calgary, has been charged with impaired driving causing injury, impaired driving and failing to provide a sample. The Calgary Police Service will be consulting with the Crown Prosecutor’s office to determine if charges in this case will be upgraded.
POLKINGHORNE is next scheduled to appear in Calgary Provincial Court on Tuesday, April 2, 2013.
