Snow and Ice Control update - January 13, 2014

Both City and contracted crews have been working over the weekend to address residential roadways throughout Calgary. Last week The City announced its Snow Action plan to maintain residential roadways, which included several types of snow and ice control measures including snow removal. Today marks the end of week one of the four week Snow Action plan, and crews are reporting to be right on task at clearing 25 per cent of roadways city wide.

Environment Canada is reporting that today Calgary could see from 5 to 10 centimetres of snow accumulation on our roadways. Despite the expected snow contracted crews will continue on with the residential Snow Action plan, while City forces will move on to maintaining Priority 1 and 2 routes when the snow starts to fly.
