Shooting Incident

The Calgary Police Service is currently investigating a shooting incident in the southeast community of Dover.

Emergency crews were called to a home in the 3200 block of Dover Road S.E., for a report of a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The caller had received a knock at the door at approximately 1:30 a.m., this morning, Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, and discovered the wounded man asking for help.

The resident, who has no connection to the victim or the incident that led up to the shooting, called 911 and assisted the victim until crews arrived.

While both the victim and witnesses are being unco-operative, investigators have determined an altercation broke out at a residence in the 3100 block of 41 Street S.E. During the melee, the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

It is believed the incident is drug-related and is not random.
