Serious Injury Motor Vehicle Collision involving a 3 year old child

At approximately 2:45 pm on Saturday the 12th October 2013, a serious injury collision occurred in the Marlborough Mall parking lot near the Walmart. A black pickup truck with duel rear wheels/tires ran over a 3 year old child and then fled in an unknown direction. The child suffered major injuries.  Witnesses described the driver as a white male, in his 50s with a full beard. It is believed that the vehicle had a partial plate of “27M”.

 

Police are aware that several members of the public rendered aid to the victim and his mother, and then left prior to Police and EMS arrival. Investigators are requesting that these individuals  or anyone who may have witnessed this collision, or has seen a vehicle matching this description, to please contact Sgt Colin Foster of the Calgary Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit at 403 567 4000, or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
