Seeking Public Assistance - Sexual Assault Investigation

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance to identify a man believed responsible for a sexual assault.

At approximately 3 a.m., on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, a woman was near 14 Avenue and 2 Street S.W., when an unknown man stopped his vehicle to speak to her. The woman then asked the man for a ride home, which he agreed to. Instead of driving her home, the man drove her north of the city limits where he then physically and sexually assaulted her.

The victim was able to exit the vehicle and run away. However, the man drove after her and attempted to drive his car into her. He fled the scene when another vehicle came into the area and offered the victim assistance.

The man is described as being of East Indian descent with an accent, between 35 and 40 years old, with a heavy build. He was driving an older-model, dark green, four door, Ford Taurus.
