Schools open their parking lots to help flood clean-up
The Calgary School Board and the Calgary Catholic School District are opening parking lots of selected schools to help the flood clean up. As part of the clean up, residents in affected areas are asked to park off the streets, if possible. A clear street will help speed up the ongoing road and utilities repairs, and the ongoing garbage pick-up. It will also allow private contractors to easily access homes that require repairs.
If you do not have access to a garage or driveway, Calgarians can park their cars off the roadway at the following school parking lots, starting on Friday, June 28 (Pleased note, crews will continue to work on roadway/utility repairs and pick up garbage, if cars are parked on the streets):
