Man Assaulted in N.W.

The Calgary Police Service is investigating an assault that occurred outside a northwest home and left a man with several injuries.

At approximately 5:45 a.m., on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, a man was leaving for work in the 9900 block of Hidden Valley Drive N.W., when it’s alleged he was approached by a man with a gun. The gunman attempted to force the victim back into his home, however, the victim resisted. Several other men, who also had guns, jumped into the fray and all four began to assault the victim.

After a short struggle, the victim was able to break free and run from the offenders. The four men ran in the opposite direction, fleeing in a light-coloured car.

The suspects in this case are described as black men in their late 20s or early 30s.

The victim in this case is not being co-operative with investigators, however, it is believed others in the neighbourhood may have seen or heard the commotion. This is not believed to be a random incident.
