Jan 18, 2014 - 8500 block of 48th Avenue NW Pedestrian collision update

The following is an update into the pedestrian collision which occurred on Saturday January 18^th 2014 in the 8500 block of 48^th Avenue NW.

The Medical Examiner’s office has confirmed that the elderly pedestrian involved in this collision has died as a result of the injuries he sustained when he was struck by a vehicle at 1145hrs on Saturday January 18^th 2014.

The matter remains under investigation by the Calgary Police Service Traffic Section and no decision has yet been made on whether the driver of the vehicle will face charges in relation to the collision.
