Drug and weapon-related charges
The Calgary Police Service has laid drug and weapon related charges against a Calgary man after a two-month investigation.
On Friday, May 24, 2013, members of the CPS Guns and Gangs Unit, with the assistance of the CPS Tactical Unit, executed a warrant at a residence in the 3000 block of 23 Avenue S.W.
Inside the residence, officers seized a quantity of cocaine worth approximately $1,200, a large machete, body armour, handcuffs, a gun holster, electronic scales, packaging materials and approximately $1,000 in cash.
Roberto SOTO, 27, of Calgary, has been charged with one count each of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, proceeds of crime and possession of body armour without a permit.
