Dirt Bike Collision

A youth remains in critical, life-threatening condition following a collision between a dirt bike and a vehicle yesterday.

Just after 7 p.m., Friday, July 26, 2013, a 16-year-old male was driving an Acura MDX Southbound in the 1900 block of 10A Street S.W.

At the same time, a 12-year-old male was riding a small off-road dirt bike eastbound in the alley that crosses 10A Street S.W. The youth drove his dirt bike out of the alley and crossing 10A Street in front of the Acura MDX. The vehicle struck the dirt bike causing the youth to be ejected off the bike and strike a parked vehicle.

The tangled dirtbike and MDX continued southbound until they struck a parked vehicle.

The youth was not wearing a helmet and was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in this collision.
