City release - Glenmore Trail S.E. water main break

The westbound lanes on Glenmore Trail S.E., east of Ogden Road S.E., will remain closed throughout the evening and into tomorrow due to water main repairs. A two-way traffic detour will be setup in the eastbound lanes starting at 4 p.m. today. Digital signs are being deployed to direct traffic and commuters are advised to use alternate routes such as Barlow Trail South.

At approximately 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, the water main that runs parallel to Glenmore Trail S.E. east of Ogden Road S.E. was damaged during unrelated construction work being done in the area.  

The road was closed shortly after 12:30 p.m. today so that excavation can begin, the pipe exposed, and the damage assessed and repaired.

The City was able to isolate the damaged area, hence no citizens or businesses are without water service.  Crews are working to finish repairs and reopen the roadway as quickly as possible.
