City Forces address outstanding concrete work
Friday, Oct. 4, 2013
For immediate release.
The City of Calgary’s Transportation Department has received notice that one of our key concrete contractors has recently gone out of business.
There are approximately 250 sites that the contractor has left incomplete, and City crews have already begun to address the outstanding concrete repair work.
The bulk of this work is sidewalk repair in residential areas, primarily in southeast Calgary.
City crews are working quickly to ensure that these sites are repaired before the snow flies. The City anticipates this work will be completed and restored to a safe manner by the end of October.
The City of Calgary would like to thank Calgarians for their patience at this time, as we recognize this is a significant inconvenience.
A media availability will be held today, Friday, October 4, at 2808 Spiller Road S.E. at 3:15pm.
