City Crews Response for Today’s Snowfall

The winter storm warning has ended, with forecasts predicting 2 to 3 cm of snow over night. City Crews will be working hard through the night clearing snow for tomorrow’s morning's commute.

Crews will primarily focus on the Priority 1 routes, or all major commuter routes. Then, crews will be working on clearing snow from Priority 2 routes, or all secondary routes. No decision has been made on a Snow Route Parking Ban and The City will continue to provide up-to-date information.

Calgary Transit customers can receive current information on transit service at www.calgarytransit.com/Calgarytransit.com and/or on The Calgary Transit Twitter account @calgarytransit.

Drivers are reminded to drive according to the conditions and to take the following steps before beginning their commute:

Clean snow and ice off your vehicle and ensure your lights and your windows are clear.
Give yourself extra time to reach your destination.
Reduce your speed and turn on your headlights.
Drive defensively.
Leave extra distance between you and the car ahead of you.
When road conditions are difficult, consider using Calgary Transit.
Consider delaying your trip until the roads are in better condition.
