Charges laid in Saddle Ridge assault

The Calgary Police Service Domestic Conflict Unit has laid charges in relation to a serious assault that occurred in Saddle Ridge earlier this week.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, police were called to a residence in the 200 block of Saddlemead Green N.E. due to a report that someone in the home was being assaulted.

Upon arrival, police found an adult female with serious injuries. The victim was transported to hospital where she remains in serious but stable condition.

The women’s 39-year-old husband has been charged with attempted murder. Additional charges are pending. His name will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim. He will next appear in court on Monday, Oct. 26, 2015.
