Calgary Transit offering discounted day passes during Calgary Stampede

As part of a new pilot, Calgary Transit is offering discounted transit day passes to help make the public’s visits to the Calgary Stampede a little easier this year. These passes can be used between July 2-12 and will be valid for one full day.

The special price for Adult day passes is $6.50, down from the regular $9.50 and Youth day passes are $4.50 down from $6.75.

The reduced rate day passes are available for purchase now at Calgary Transit’s customer service centre, 7-Eleven, Mac’s and Safeway stores.  During the 10 days of Stampede they will also be available through ticket vending machines located at CTrain stations. To validate the pass, customers simply have to scratch the day they are travelling prior to boarding a CTrain or bus.

This is the first time Calgary Transit has offered customers a discounted rate during Stampede week — one of the city’s busiest times of the year.

“The 10 days of Stampede are an incredibly exciting and busy time for Calgarians and visitors from all over,” said Calgary Transit Director Doug Morgan. “Parking is at a premium and cabs are always in demand. Taking transit to travel to and from the Stampede grounds and other activities is an easy and affordable option to enjoy the fun.”
