Calgary road closures and lane restrictions for October 3, 2013

Emergency Closure

Chaparral Drive S.E. between Chaparral Way and Chapala Drive S.E. is reduced to one lane in each direction on the southbound side of the road due to an emergency watermain break.

 

16 Avenue N.W. at 8 Street N.W. will have a single westbound lane closure on Friday, October 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday, October 5 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility work.

 

Southbound 14 Street N.W. between 24 Avenue N.W. and 23 Avenue N.W. will be reduced to one lane on Friday, October 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for curb work.

 

Crowchild Trail N.W. at Memorial Drive N.W. will have a single southbound lane closure on Friday, October 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for construction work.

 

Southbound Metis Trail N.E. at 80 Avenue N.E. will be closed on Saturday, October 5 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for construction work. During this time 80 Avenue N.E. will be closed to east and westbound traffic. Motorists are encouraged to use 36 Street N.E.  as an alternative route.

8 Street S.E. between 9 Avenue S.E. and MacDonald Avenue will be closed from 9 a.m. Friday, October 4 to 4 p.m. Sunday, October 6 to allow for emergency CPR railway crossings repairs. Local residential and business traffic only will be allowed to enter 8 Street S.E. with remaining traffic detoured to 11 Street S.E. to bypass the construction.

 

6 Avenue S.E. between Macleod Trail and 3 Street S.E. will have a single eastbound lane closure until Saturday, October 12 at 12 p.m. for sidewalk construction.

 

Please be advised that there is a new traffic alignment on 114 Avenue S.E. at 68 Street S.E. to accommodate roadwork. The speed limit has been reduced to 50 km/h.

 

The westbound right lane on 17Avenue S.W. at 37 Street S.W. will be closed on Saturday, October 5 from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. for crosswalk construction.

 

The southbound right lane on 37 Street S.W. at 17Avenue S.W. will be closed on Saturday, October 5 from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. for crosswalk construction.

 

The eastbound right lane on 17Avenue S.W. at 37 Street S.W. will be closed on Saturday, October 5 from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. for crosswalk construction.

 

8 Avenue S.W. will be closed between 1 Street S.W. to 2 Street S.W.

 

The right lane will be closed on northbound Sun Valley Boulevard S.E. from Midlake Boulevard S.E. to Fish Creek park entrance.

 

The right lane will be closed on westbound 146 Avenue S.E. from Midridge Place S.E. to Bannister Road S.E.

 

The right lane will be closed on northbound and westbound Bannister Road S.E. from 146 Avenue S.E. to Shawnee Drive S.E.

 

The right lane will be closed on Shawnee Drive S.W. from Bannister Road S.W. to Evergreen Street S.W.

 

There will be various right lane closures in the Midnapore Lake area. Watch for runners and Calgary police service personnel along the route.

 

Willow Park Drive S.E. will be closed from Bonaventure Drive to Acadia Drive S.E.

 

Acadia Drive S.E. will be closed from Willow Park Drive S.E. to Willingdon Boulevard S.E.

 

Willingdon Boulevard S.E .will be closed from Bonaventure Drive S.E. to Acadia Drive S.E.

 

Bonaventure Drive S.E. will be closed from Willow Park Drive S.E. to Bonaventure Drive S.E.

 

Fairmont Drive S.E. will be closed from Willow Park Drive S.E. to Bonaventure Drive S.E.

 

Calgary Police will be on site. Please obey all temporary traffic control devices.
