Calgary road closures and lane restrictions for May 2, 2013

New road closures and lane restrictions
Northwest
Eastbound Beddington Boulevard N.W. east of Berkley Drive N.W. the right lane will be closed from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, for utilities.
 
Westbound 16 Avenue N.W. west of the Valley Ridge Boulevard, will be reduced to one lane, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, May 3, for memorial ceremony.
 
Northeast
McKnight Boulevard N.E. at Edmonton Trail N.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, May 3, for bridge construction.

Southeast
5 Street S.E. between 53 Avenue S.E. and 58 Avenue S.E. will be closed from 7 a.m. on Saturday, May 4 until 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, for utilities.
 
Northbound Macleod Trail S.E. at 17 Avenue S.E. the right lane will be closed from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, for construction.
25 Avenue S.E. between Spiller Road S.E. and 25 Dartmouth Road S.E. the east Manchester entrance access will be closed, from 7 a.m. on Saturday, May 4 until 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, for utilities.

Northbound Blackfoot Trail at 42 Avenue S.E.  the right lane will be closed from 7 a.m. Saturday, May 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 5, for water service repairs. The speed limit will be lowered to 60 km/h during construction.  In addition, the ramp from westbound 42 Avenue S.E. to northbound Blackfoot Trail will be closed and traffic will be directed around the turn island to re-connect with northbound Blackfoot Trail.
 
 
Ongoing road closures and lane restrictions
Northwest
Northbound Shaganappi Trail N.W. to eastbound John Laurie Boulevard N.W. a portion of the ramp will be closed from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily between Wednesday, May 1 until Monday, May 6, for landscaping.
 
Westbound 16 Avenue N.W. west of Sarcee Trail, one lane will be closed, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, from Tuesday, April 9 until Wednesday, May 15, for noise wall replacement.
 
Northeast
45 Avenue N.E. between 12 Street N.E.  and 11 Street N.E. will be closed from 9 a.m. Monday, April 29 until 6 p.m. approximately Friday, May 10 for utility installation.

12 Avenue N.E. between 2 Street N.E. and Edmonton Trail will be closed from 9 a.m. on Friday, May 3, until 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, for underground utilities installation.
 
Southwest
The northbound right lane on Centre Street between 6 Avenue and 5 Avenue S.W. is closed until further notice. This is due to emergency utility work.
 
 
Centre Street between 6 Avenue S.W. and 7 Avenue S.W. will be reduced to one lane in each direction, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily between Monday, April 29 to Friday, May 3. In addition, the west sidewalk will be closed from 9 a.m. on Monday, April 29 to Friday, May 3, for replacing a sidewalk.
 
Northbound11 Street S.W. at 6 Avenue S.W. the left lane will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily  between Wednesday, May 1 until Friday, May 3. In addition, westbound 6 Avenue at11 Street S.W.  the right lane will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily between Wednesday, May 1 until Friday, May 3, for construction.

The northbound left lane and the southbound right lane on 14 Street S.W. at Heritage Drive will be closed and the speed limit reduced to 50 km/h from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday May 3, for utility work.

The left lane on eastbound and westbound 90 Avenue S.W. west of 14 Street S.W. will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, May 3, for utility work.
 
Southeast
Westbound 11 Avenue S.E. west of Olympic Way S.E. the two left lanes will be closed, from 6 p.m. on Friday, May 3 until 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, for utilities.

52 Street S.E. at 126 Avenue S.E., one lane will be reduced to one lane in each direction and there will be no left turns at the intersection from 7 a.m. on Friday, May 3 until the end of June, for utility installation.

Southbound Macleod Trail (1 Street S.E.)  between 4 Avenue S.E. and 5 Avenue S.E. will be reduced to one right lane starting 7 p.m. on Monday, April 26 until 5 a.m. on Friday, May 31, for construction.
 
Southbound Deerfoot Trail speed will be reduced to 50 km/h in the construction zone and motorists may experience delays from April 21 until May 10, for trucks moving materials from Deerfoot Trail S.E. between highway 22X and Cranston Avenue/Seton Boulevard S.E.

Northbound 3 Street S.E. at 7 Avenue S.E., the right lane will be closed. In addition, the eastside of sidewalk on 3 Street S.E. north of 7 Avenue S.E. will be closed. This will start at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 15 until 6 p.m. on Friday, May 10, for construction.
 
100 Street S.E., between Glenmore Trail and Venture Avenue, will be closed for approximately six weeks starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 2 to allow for water service upgrades and utility connections. Traffic will be directed to 84 Street S.E. to bypass the construction. Local business access will be maintained.
 
 
Long Term road closure and lane restrictions - projects
Northeast
36 Street N.E. will be closed between 80 Avenue N.E. and Country Hills Boulevard, beginning Monday, April 8, between Airport Trail and Country Hills Boulevard for the roadway to be reconstructed from two lanes to four lanes. The closure, which will last approximately four months, will allow Airport Trail connections to be made to 36 Street N.E. eastbound from the Airport Trail tunnel. Motorists are advised to use Métis Trail N.E. as an alternative route. For more information, visit 36 Street N.E. road reconstruction and widening.
 
Lane closures on Centre Street between Laycock Drive and Thorncrest Road will restrict traffic to a single lane in each direction starting at 4 a.m. Monday, April 22, for the Centre Street Reconstruction and Transit Priority project. Westbound Memorial Drive, west of 28 Street N.E.  the left lane will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, between Monday, April 29 until Friday, May 3, for construction for the NE LRT Platform Extension Project.
 
Southwest
Westbound 13 Avenue S.W. between 1 Street S.W. to 4 Street S.W. will be closed starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, April 29, for approximately two months for the 13 Avenue Heritage Greenway Project.
 
Southeast
68 Street S.E. between 106 Avenue S.E. and 108 Avenue S.E. will have all traffic shifted to an adjacent eastside road, to allow for utility installations and surface upgrades, starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 6. The speed limit of the detour road will be reduced to 30 km/h. This stage of construction is expected to last until mid-May. Updates will be provided as the project progresses.
