Calgary road closures and lane restrictions for March 27, 2013

Northwest
14 Street N.W. at Kensington Road, will be closed, from 7 a.m. on Friday, March 29 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 31. Southbound traffic on 14 Street N.W. will be detoured to Crowchild Trail. Northbound traffic on 14 Street N.W. will be detoured to 19 Street N.W., for water service repair.

Northeast
36 Street N.E. will be closed between 80 Avenue N.E. and Country Hills Boulevard, beginning Monday, April 8, for  the roadway between Airport Trail and Country Hills Boulevard to be reconstructed and expanded from two to four lanes. The closure, which will last approximately four months and will also allow the Airport Trail connections to be made onto 36 Street going east out of the Airport Trail tunnel. Motorists are advised to use Métis Trail N.E. as the main route alternative.
 
Northbound 36 Street N.E. between 16 Avenue N.E. and 17 Avenue N.E., will have one lane closed, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, from Monday, March 25 to Friday, March 29, for construction.

Southeast
44 Street S.E. between 64 Avenue S.E. and 68 Avenue S.E., will be closed, from 7 a.m. Thursday, March 28 until 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, for water services repair.
 
4 Street S.E. between 9 Avenue S.E. and 11 Avenue S.E., will remain reduced to one lane in each direction, until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, for Enmax repairs.

2 Avenue S.E. will be closed between Centre Street and 1 Street S.E. from 10 p.m. Wednesday, March 27 to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 28, to allow for water service utility upgrades. Traffic will be directed to 3 Avenue S.E. to bypass the construction.

44 Street S.E. between 68 Avenue S.E. and 72 Avenue S.E., will be closed, from 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26 until 6 p.m. Thursday, March 28, for emergency water repairs.
 
3 Street S.E. between 6 Avenue S.E. and 7 Avenue S.E., will be reduced to a single lane in each direction and the west sidewalk will be closed, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday, March 28, for construction.

68 Street S.E. between 106 Avenue S.E. and 108 Avenue S.E. will have all traffic shifted to an adjacent detour road on the east side of existing roadway, to allow for utility installations and surface upgrades, starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 6. The speed limit on the temporary detour road will be reduced to 30 km/h. This stage of development is expected to last for approximately 30 days. Updates will be supplied as project progresses.
 
Southwest
7 Street S.W., at the intersections of 4 Avenue S.W. and 5 Avenue S.W., The City is scheduled to install underground utilities from Saturday, March 16, to Thursday, March 28. Here is the schedule of road closures for this area:
  • Temporary roadway restrictions: Southbound 7 Street S.W., between 5 Avenue and 6 Avenue, during the week of March 25, will have various single traffic lane closures and temporary parking restrictions between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily. The locations of these closures and restrictions will change as work progresses. In addition, 4 Avenue S.W., approaching 7 Street S.W. will have single lane closures between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily during this same time period.
  • Temporary roadway closure: Northbound and southbound 7 Street S.W. will temporarily close between 4 Avenue S.W. and the north alley on Wednesday, March 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Thursday, March 28, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. This temporary full road closure is necessary to install a new utility duct. Crosswalks and sidewalks in the area will remain open and pedestrian access will be maintained. The alleys will also remain open. Local traffic on this block, can access 7 Street S.W., from 3 Avenue S.W., by using 6 Street S.W. or 8 Street S.W.
The two left lanes will be closed on northbound 4 Street S.W at 10 Avenue S.W. and 10 Avenue S.W. westbound will be closed between 4 Street S.W. and 5 Street S.W. from 9 a.m. Thursday, March 28 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 4 , to allow for water service upgrades and main replacement. Traffic will be directed to use either 11 Avenue S.W.  or 6 Avenue S.W. to bypass the construction. In addition, the west sidewalk will be closed on 4 Street S.W. between 10 Avenue S.W. and 8 Avenue S.W. during the same time frame.
