Calgary road closures and lane restrictions for March 26, 2013

Northwest

24 Avenue N.W. between 14 Street N.W. and 15 Street N.W., will be closed, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, from Saturday, March 23 to Wednesday, March 27, for emergency water main replacement.

Northeast
Northbound 36 Street N.E. between 16 Avenue N.E. and 17 Avenue N.E., will have one lane closed, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, from Monday, March 25 to Friday, March 29, for construction.

Southeast
2 Avenue S.E. will be closed between Center Street and 1 Street S.E. from 10 p.m. Wednesday, March 27 to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 28, to allow for water service utility upgrades. Traffic will be directed to 3 Avenue S.E. to bypass the construction.

44 Street S.E. between 68 Avenue S.E. and 72 Avenue S.E., will be closed, from 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26 until 6 p.m. Thursday, March 28, for emergency water repairs.

Deer Run Boulevard S.E. at Deer Run Boulevard S.E. , will have two-way traffic east side, from Tuesday, March 26 from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, for emergency water service repair.

Inverness Gate at Promenade Way will be closed from 7 a.m. Saturday, March 23 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, for emergency water services repairs. Southbound traffic will be directed to High Street to bypass the construction.

Westbound Highway 22X, will shift to the eastbound lane at the McKenzie Lake Boulevard S.E. and Cranston Boulevard S.E. intersection until Chaparral Boulevard S.E. and Sun Valley Boulevard S.E., anticipated from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, March 25 until Wednesday, March 27, for bridge construction.

68 Street S.E. between 106 Avenue S.E. and 108 Avenue S.E. will have all traffic shifted to an adjacent detour road on the east side of existing roadway, to allow for utility installations and surface upgrades, starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 6. The speed limit on the temporary detour road will be reduced to 30 km/h. This stage of development is expected to last for approximately 30 days. Updates will be supplied as project progresses.

Southwest
7 Street S.W., at the intersections of 4 Avenue S.W. and 5 Avenue S.W., The City is scheduled to install underground utilities from Saturday, March 16, to Thursday, March 28. Here is the schedule of road closures for this area:

Temporary roadway restrictions: Southbound 7 Street S.W., between 5 Avenue and 6 Avenue, during the week of March 25, will have various single traffic lane closures and temporary parking restrictions between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily. The locations of these closures and restrictions will change as work progresses. In addition, 4 Avenue S.W., approaching 7 Street S.W. will have single lane closures between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily during this same time period.
Temporary roadway closure: Northbound and southbound 7 Street S.W. will temporarily close between 4 Avenue S.W. and the north alley on Wednesday, March 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Thursday, March 28, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. This temporary full road closure is necessary to install a new utility duct. Crosswalks and sidewalks in the area will remain open and pedestrian access will be maintained. The alleys will also remain open. Local traffic on this block, can access 7 Street S.W., from 3 Avenue S.W., by using 6 Street S.W. or 8 Street S.W.

The left lanes will be closed on all 4 approaches to the intersection of 10 Avenue S.W. at 1 Street S.W. from 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 26 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, to allow for water service utility upgrades. Alternate routes are recommended as delays are expected.

The 3 right lanes will be closed on westbound 6 Avenue S.W. at 7 Street S.W. and the right lane will be closed on southbound 7 Street S.W. at 6 Avenue S.W. from 11 p.m. Tuesday, March 26 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, to allow for water service utility upgrades. Alternate routes are recommended as delays are expected.

The 2 left lanes will be closed on northbound 4 Street S.W at 10 Avenue S.W. and 10 Avenue S.W. westbound will be closed between 4 Street S.W. and 5 Street S.W. from 9 a.m. Thursday, March 28 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 4 , to allow for water service upgrades and main replacement. Traffic will be directed to use either 11 Avenue S.W. or 6 Avenue S.W. to bypass the construction. In addition, the west sidewalk will be closed on 4 Street S.W. between 10 Avenue S.W. and 8 Avenue S.W. during the same time frame.
