Calgary road closures and lane restrictions for March 22, 2013

Northeast
Westbound Memorial Drive at 36 Street N.E., will be reduced to one lane, from 9 a.m. Thursday, March 21 to 6 p.m., Saturday, March 23, for emergency water main break repair.

Northwest
24 Avenue N.W. between 14 Street N.W. and 15 Street N.W., will be closed, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, from Saturday, March 23 to Sunday, March 24, for emergency water main replacement.

4 Street N.W. between 19 Avenue N.W. and 20 Avenue N.W., will be reduced to one lane, from 8 a.m. Thursday, March 21 until 6 p.m. Saturday, March 23, for construction.
 
Southeast
Inverness Gate at Promenade Way will be closed from 7 a.m. Saturday, March 23 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, for emergency water services repairs. Southbound traffic will be directed to High Street to bypass the construction.

Northbound 84 Street S.E. at 50 Avenue S.E., right lane will be closed, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, for traffic signal installation. The speed limit will be reduced to 50 km/h.

26 Street S.E.  between 19 Avenue S.E. and 22 Avenue S.E. , will be closed, from 9 a.m. Friday, March 22 until 6 p.m. Sunday, March 24, for construction.

21 Avenue between 11 Street S.E. to 9 Street S.E. , will be closed, from 6 a.m., Saturday, March 23 to 7 p.m., Monday, March 25, for water services infrastructure upgrade. Traffic will be detoured to 20 Avenue S.E. to bypass the construction.

68 Street S.E. between 106 Avenue S.E. and 108 Avenue S.E. will have all traffic shifted to an adjacent detour road on the east side of existing roadway, to allow for utility installations and surface upgrades, starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 6. The speed limit on the temporary detour road will be reduced to 30 km/h. This stage of development is expected to last for approximately 30 days. Updates will be supplied as project progresses.
Highway 22X at Chaparral Boulevard S.E. and Sun Valley Boulevard, various lane closures, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Monday, March 18 to Saturday, March 23, for new bridge construction.
 
Southwest
The two left lanes will be closed on northbound 4 Street S.W. between 10 Avenue S.W. and 9 Avenue S.W., from 9 a.m. Friday, March 22 until 7 p.m., Sunday, March 24, to allow for water service upgrades and main replacement. In addition, 10 Avenue S.W., will be reduced to one lane in each direction and the west sidewalk will be closed during the same time frame.
 
7 Street S.W., at the intersections of 4 Avenue S.W. and 5 Avenue S.W., The City is scheduled to install underground utilities from Saturday, March 16, to Tuesday, March 26. Here is the schedule of road closures for this area:
  • Monday, March 25
    7 Street S.W., between 4 Avenue S.W. and 6 Avenue S.W., between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., will have single lane closures and sidewalk restrictions adjacent to construction zones. These closures will change locations as work progresses. The temporary closures are necessary to provide room for the utility work at 4 and 5 Avenue S.W. After 3 p.m., roads and sidewalks will reopen to the public. However, Parking will be restricted in the area to facilitate construction.
  • Tuesday, March 26
    Southeast corner of the 7 Street S.W. and 4 Avenue S.W., between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., will have westbound south curb lane and the southbound east curb lane closed. Pedestrian access will be maintained during this time.
This construction is weather dependent and may be rescheduled pending conditions. Utility work at the intersections of 6, 7 and 8 Avenues will begin as the work at 4 and 5 Avenues is completed. This work is part of the 7 Street S.W. cycle track installation. More information about this project can be found on calgary.ca.

The right lane on northbound and southbound 14 Street S.W at Heritage Drive will be closed and the speed limit reduced to 50 km/h from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday March 23, for utility work.
The left lane on northbound and southbound 14 Street S.W. at 90 Avenue S.W., will be closed and the speed limit will be reduced to 50 km/h from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, for utility work. In addition, the left lane on eastbound and westbound 90 Avenue S.W west of 14 Street S.W. will be closed during the same time frame.
 
18 Avenue S.W. between Centre Street S and 1 Street S.W., road will be closed, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, for utility work.

25 Avenue S.W. between 1 Street S.W. and the Elbow River Bridge will be reduced to a single shared lane of traffic , from  8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, from Friday, March 22 to Saturday, March 23 for utilities installation work.  Alternate routes are recommended as delays are expected.

33 Avenue S.W. between 14 Street S.W. and 15 Street S.W., will be closed, from 7 a.m. on Saturday, March 23 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 24, for water services repair. Traffic will be detoured to both 32 Avenue S.W. and 34 Avenue S.W. during this road closure.

The three left lanes will be closed on westbound 6 Avenue S.W. at 2 Street S.W. In addition,  the two left lanes will be closed on northbound 2 Street S.W. from 9 p.m. Monday, March 25 to 5 a.m., Tuesday, March 26, to allow for water service utility upgrades. Alternate routes are recommended as delays are expected.
 
17 Avenue S.W. between 2 Street S.W. and 4 Street S.W., will be reduced to one lane in each direction, from 9 p.m. Monday, March 25 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, to allow for water service utility upgrades. All traffic will be directed to the south side of 17 Avenue S.W., as crews will be working in the existing westbound lanes. Alternate routes are recommended as delays are expected.
