Calgary road closures and lane restrictions for March 20, 2013
Southwest
The two left lanes will be closed on northbound 4 Street S.W. between 10 Avenue S.W. and 9 Avenue S.W., from 9 a.m. Friday, March 22 until 7 p.m., Sunday, March 24, to allow for water service upgrades and main replacement. In addition, 10 Avenue S.W., will be reduced to one lane in each direction and the west sidewalk will be closed during the same time frame.
7 Street S.W., at the intersections of 4 Avenue and 5 Avenue, The City is scheduled to install underground utilities from Saturday, March 16, to Tuesday, March 26.

7 Street S.W., between 4 Avenue and 6 Avenue, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily, will have single lane closures and sidewalk restrictions adjacent to construction zones. These closures will change locations as work progresses. The temporary closures are necessary to provide room for the utility work at 4 and 5 Avenues S.W. daily, after 3 p.m., roads and sidewalks will reopen to public use. However, Parking will be restricted in the area to facilitate construction materials equipment and work. Public parking will be returned to normal as quickly as possible. - Thursday, March 21 and Friday, March 22
- Southbound 7 Street S.W., between 4 Avenue and 6 Avenue, will have various single lane closures and sidewalk restrictions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily. These restrictions are necessary to provide space for utility work as part of the 7 Street S.W. cycle track project. The restrictions will change locations as work progresses. Roads and sidewalks will reopen to public use after 3 p.m.
- Northbound 7 Street S.W., between 4 Avenue and 3 Avenue, will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. No right hand turns will be permitted from 4 Avenue S.W. to 7 Street S.W. This closure is necessary to provide space for utility work as part of the 7 Street S.W. cycle track project. Drivers traveling northbound can use 6 Street S.W. or 8 Street S.W. Pedestrians will still have access to 7 Street S.W.
- This construction is weather dependent and may be rescheduled pending conditions. Utility work at the intersections of 6, 7 and 8 Avenues will begin as the work at 4 and 5 Avenues is completed. More information on these impacts will be available once the schedule is confirmed. This work is part of the 7 Street S.W. cycle track installation. Southeast
21 Avenue between 11 Street S.E. to 9 Street S.E. , will be closed, from 6 a.m., Saturday, March 23 to 7 p.m., Monday, March 25, for water services infrastructure upgrade. Traffic will be detoured to 20 Avenue S.E. to bypass the construction.

68 Street S.E. between 106 Avenue S.E. and 108 Avenue S.E. will have all traffic shifted to an adjacent detour road on the east side of existing roadway, to allow for utility installations and surface upgrades, starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 6. The speed limit on the temporary detour road will be reduced to 30 km/h. This stage of development is expected to last for approximately 30 days. Updates will be supplied as project progresses.
Highway 22X at Chaparral Boulevard S.E. and Sun Valley Boulevard, various lane closures, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Monday, March 18 to Saturday, March 23, for new bridge construction.
Northeast
Westbound Memorial Drive at 36 Street N.E., will be reduced to one lane, from 9 a.m. Thursday, March 21 to 6 p.m., Friday, March 22, for emergency water main break repair.
