Calgary road closures and lane restrictions for March 1, 2013
Calgary, AB – March 1, 2013 for immediate release
Northwest
Memorial Drive N.W. at 9A Street N.W. will be reduced to one lane in both directions from 6 a.m. Saturday, March 2 until 9 p.m. Sunday, March 3 for utility repairs.
Southeast
Westbound 17 Avenue S.E. at 60 Street S.E. will have a right lane closure from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 28 and Friday, March 1, for the installation of traffic lights. Additionally, on March 4 and 5, the eastbound left lane of 17 Avenue S.E. at 60 Street S.E. will be closed along with these lanes to facilitate this work. After which the closure will revert back to only the westbound right lane of 17 Avenue S.E. at 60 Street S.E. for March 6, 7 and 8. Drivers should use caution when passing crews.

Southbound closure of 52 Street S.E. between 90 Avenue S.E. and 94 Avenue S.E., including one northbound lane, starting Friday, March 1 at 7 a.m. and remaining closed until 6 p.m. Thursday, March 7, for utility work. Detours will be posted – drivers are advised to use Barlow Trail South.
Southwest
Westbound 61 Avenue S.W., between Centre Street South and 1A Street S.W., will be closed for two weeks starting at 9 a.m. Monday, March 4 to facilitate Chinook LRT Station construction. North and southbound drivers are advised to use 58 Avenue S.W. to travel west from this area.

Water Services will be reconstructing the Scarboro storm sewer main in a series of phased constructions starting at 9 a.m. Wednesday, February 27 and ending at Sunday, March 3, weather permitting.
- The first stage of construction will have an eastbound right lane closure of 12 avenue S.W. at 18 Street S.W. and a closure of 18 Street S.W. from 12 Avenue S.W. to Sharon Avenue S.W.
- The second stage of construction will completely close 18 Street S.W. from Sharon Avenue S.W. to Sudbury Avenue S.W.
Drivers in the Scarboro community will be directed to use 15 Avenue S.W. to 16 Street S.W. to exit or enter the community. Alternate access points into the Scarboro community along 17 Avenue S.W. are recommended during construction.
14 Street S.W. at 17 Avenue S.W., traffic will be reduced to one lane in both directions, from 7 a.m. Saturday, March 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, March 3, for utilities installation.
Rundle LRT Station Refurbishment
In order to facilitate the construction occurring at the Rundle LRT Station, the southbound left lane of 36 Street N.E., just south of 26 Avenue N.E., will be closed, starting on Tuesday, February 12, between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The closure will occur daily between February 12 and March 1, (excluding Saturday and Sunday).
