Calgary road closures and lane restrictions for June 3, 2013

New road closures and lane restrictions

Southwest
Westbound 4 Avenue S.W. west of 2 Street S.W. one lane is closed and northbound 2 Street S.W. between 5 Avenue S.W. and 4 Avenue S.W. one lane is closed. In addition, the south side crosswalk of 4 AvenueS.W. and the west side crosswalk of 2 Street S.W. is closed from 2 p.m. on Monday, June 3 until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, for emergency gas main repair.
 
Eastbound Bow Trail just east of the 10 Avenue S.W. exit will have the left lane closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 4  to allow for paving preparations.

Special Events
Mayor’s 23rd Annual Environment Expo
The northbound right lane will be closed on Macleod Trail between 9 Avenue S.E. and 7 Avenue S.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily between Tuesday, June 4 until Thursday, June 6.
 
There will be a large number of buses in this area and motorists are advised to use alternative routes, as delays are expected.

Northwest
Sarcee Trail between John Laurie Boulevard and Crowchild Trail will be reduced to one lane in each direction starting at 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily between Tuesday, June 4 until Saturday, June 29, for sound wall replacement.

Eastbound Crowchild Trail at 40 Avenue N.W. will have one left lane closed from 9 a.m. till 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, for construction.
 
 
Ongoing road closures and lane restrictions

Southwest
Hull Avenue S.W. between Horton Road S.W. and Macleod Trail will be closed from 7 p.m. on Monday, June 3 until 3 p.m. on Friday, July 12, for major road reconstruction.

The northbound right lane on Centre Street between 6 Avenue S.W. and 5 Avenue S.W. is closed until further notice. This is due to emergency utility work.
 
Hull Avenue S.W. between Horton Road S.W. and Macleod Trail will be closed from 7 p.m. on Monday, June 3 until 3 p.m. on Friday, July 12, for major road reconstruction.

Southeast
Westbound 90 Avenue S.E. east of 52 Street S.E. will have the right lane closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily between Monday, June 3 until Friday, June 7, for utilities.
 
Westbound 90 Avenue S.E. west of 52 Street S.E. will have the right lane closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily between Monday, June 3 until Friday, June 7, for utilities.
 
Northbound 52 Street S.E. south of 90 Avenue S.E. will have the right lane closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily between Monday, June 3 until Friday, June 7, for utilities. The speed limit will be reduced to 50 kilometers per hour.

The north sidewalk on 6 Avenue S.E .between Macleod Trail and 3 Street S.E. will be closed. In addition,  the south sidewalk on 5 Avenue S.E. between Macleod Trail and 3 Street S.E. will be closed starting on 6 a.m. Friday, May 31 until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, for facilitating construction at the Bow Valley College campus.
 
Northwest
Eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. between Bowness Road and Shaganappi Trail will have various lane closures throughout the month of June until the end of June, for bridge rehabilitation.

Westbound 16 Avenue N.W. west of Sarcee Trail will have the right lane closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily throughout the month of June until the end of June, for noise wall replacement.
 
Bowness Road at 16 Avenue N.W. will have various lane closures throughout the month of June until the end of June, for bridge repair.
 
Eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. at Crowchild Trail will have the right lane closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily
throughout the month of June until the end of June, for sound wall replacement.
 
 
Long term projects – road closures and lane restrictions

Northwest
Eastbound 2 Avenue N.W. between 10 Street N.W. and 9A Street N.W. will be closed from 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8 until 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, for construction.
 
Bowness Road N.W. at 16 Avenue N.W. will have various daily lane restrictions, from 6 p.m. on Monday, May 21 until Sunday, June 30, for bridge rehabilitation project.
 
Northeast
36 Street N.E. will be closed between 80 Avenue N.E. and Country Hills Boulevard, beginning Monday, April 8, between Airport Trail and Country Hills Boulevard for the roadway to be reconstructed from two lanes to four lanes. The closure, which will last approximately four months, will allow Airport Trail connections to be made to 36 Street N.E. eastbound from the Airport Trail tunnel. Motorists are advised to use Métis Trail N.E. as an alternative route. For more information, visit 36 Street N.E. road reconstruction and widening.
 
Lane closures on Centre Street between Laycock Drive and Thorncrest Road will restrict traffic to a single lane in each direction starting at 4 a.m. Monday, April 22, for the Centre Street Reconstruction and Transit Priority project. Southwest
Westbound 13 Avenue S.W. between 1 Street S.W. to 4 Street S.W. will be closed starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, April 29, for approximately two months for the 13 Avenue Heritage Greenway Project.
 
Southeast
68 Street S.E. between 106 Avenue S.E. and 108 Avenue S.E. will have all traffic shifted to an adjacent eastside road, to allow for utility installations and surface upgrades, starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 6. The speed limit of the detour road will be reduced to 30 km/h. This stage of construction is expected to last until mid-June. Updates will be provided as the project progresses.
 
52 Street S.E. at 126 Avenue S.E., one lane will be reduced to one lane in each direction and there will be no left turns at the intersection from 7 a.m. on Friday, May 3 until the end of June, for utility installation.
 
Motorists heading north on Deerfoot Trail to travel east on Stoney Trail will be re-routed to a different off ramp for eight weeks beginning Thursday, May 9, 2013. The existing eastbound off ramp is being removed so a new ramp can be built in its place as part of the Calgary Ring Road.
 
11 Avenue S.E. between Maggie Street and 8 Street S.E. will be closed from 7 a.m. on Monday, May 13 until 6 p.m. on Friday, June 7, for construction.
