New road closures and lane restrictions
 
Special Events
Paint the Pavement
The intersection of Sackville Drive at Sabrina Road S.W. will be closed from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 15 for painting the pavement.
 
Local traffic only on Sackville Drive and Sabrina Road between Elbow Drive and Sackville Drive.
 
Sled Island Music and Arts Festival
Southbound 1Street S.W. between 7 Avenue S.W. and 10 Avenue S.W. will have the right lane closed from the following dates:
  • 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19 to 3 a.m. on Thursday, June 20.
  • 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 20 to 3 a.m. on Friday, June 21.
  • 6 p.m. on Friday, June 21 to 6 a.m. on Sunday, June 23.
Watch for cyclists in the area.
 
Southeast
Westbound 6 Avenue S.E. between 1 Street S.E. and Centre Street S. will be reduced to two lanes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily Thursday, June 13 and Friday, June 14, for construction.

Northbound and southbound Blackfoot Trail at the bridge over Glenmore Trail will have the left lane closed from 9 a.m. on Friday, June 14 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 16, to allow for preliminary road work related to the Blackfoot Trail Bridge re-hab project.
 
Southbound 52 Street S.E. south of 94 Avenue S.E. will have two alternating lanes closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, for construction.
 
Southwest
11 Avenue S.W. between 1 Street S.W. and 2 Street S.W. will be closed from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, for construction.

East and westbound Glenmore Trail east of 14 Street S.W. will have various lane closures from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, for wall power washing.
 
Westbound Glenmore Trail from east and west of Macleod Trail S.E. will have the right lane closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for wall power washing.

7 Street S.W .between 6 Avenue S.W. and 8 Avenue S.W. will be closed from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday June 15 for construction.
 
Eastbound 9 Avenue S.W. between 14 Street S.W. and 3 Street S.E. will have various lanes closed and the speed limit will be reduced to 50 km/h from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 15 for paving.  Alternate routes are recommended as major delays are expected.
 
Eastbound Bow Trail to northbound Crowchild Trail will have the speed limit reduced to 50 km/h and the exit ramp closed from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 16 for paving. Traffic will be detoured to westbound Bow Trail via 16 Street S.W. to connect with northbound Crowchild Trail.
Southbound Crowchild Trail to eastbound 10 Avenue S.W. have the speed limit reduced to 50 km/h and the exit ramp closed from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 16 for paving. Traffic will be directed to use the eastbound Bow Trail exit as an alternate route.
 
Westbound 10 Avenue S.W. between 19 Street S.W. and the Bow Trail / Crowchild Trail connection will be reduced to a single lane and have various stops in traffic controlled by the Calgary Police Service from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 16 for paving.  In addition, the connecting ramps from Crowchild Trail and Bow Trail to eastbound 10 Avenue S.W. on this segment of 10 Avenue S.W. will be closed.
 
Eastbound 9 Avenue S.W. between 11 Street S.W. and 9 Street S.W. will have various lanes closed and the speed limit reduced to 50 km/h from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sunday, June 16 for paving.  Alternate routes are recommended as major delays are expected.
 
Macleod Trail north and southbound at 162 Avenue S.W. will have various lane closures from 5 a.m. on Saturday, June 15 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, for traffic operation upgrading. At this location asphalt mix will be poured on to the road and it will need a couple of days to dry before motorist can drive on the road.

48 Avenue S.W. between 4 A Street S.W. and 5 Street S.W. will be closed from 3 p.m. on Friday, June 14 to 1 a.m. on Saturday, June 15.

Find It Night Market - June 14 from 6 p.m. to midnight
  • 10 Street S.E. between 9 Avenue S.E. and 10 Avenue SE will be closed from 1 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Friday, June 14 and Saturday, June 15.
Melrose Cafe Motorcycle Show – Saturday, June 15 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Parking will not be permitted on the north side of 17 Avenue S.W. between 6 Street and 7 Street S.W.
  • Parking will not be permitted on the south side of 17 Avenue S.W. between College Lane and 7 Street S.W.
Chinook Half Ironman – Saturday, June 15 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Midland Crescent will be closed between Midlake Boulevard and the lake.
  • Sun Valley Boulevard will be reduced to one lane in each direction from Midlake Boulevard to Highway 22X.
  • Midlake Boulevard will be reduced to one lane in each direction at Midpark Rise S.E.
  • Motorists are advised to watch for cyclists in the curb lane on Highway 22X to the west city limits.
 Chinook Sprint Triathlon – Sunday, June 16 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Eastbound Sun Valley Boulevard between Sun Valley Drive S.E. to Sikome Road S.E. will have one lane of traffic closed in each direction.
  • Cyclists will be on north and westbound lanes along Sun Valley Boulevard between Sun Valley Drive S.E. to Sikome Road S.E.
Loops for Troops – Sunday, June 16 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Motorists are advised to watch for runners on the south side of 66 Avenue S.W. between 37 Street S.W. and Crowchild Trail S.W.
  • Crowchild Trail S.W. from 66 Avenue S.W. to North Glenmore Park entrance way.
Southwest
34Street S.W. between 61 Avenue S.W. and 66Avenue S.W. will be closed until Friday, June 21, for the Lakeview storm system improvement project.

12 Avenue S.W. west of 14 Street S.W. will be reduced to two lanes until the evening of Wednesday, June 12 for underground utilities. Updates will be provided as information becomes available.

Hull Avenue S.W. between Horton Road S.W. and Macleod Trail will be closed from 7 p.m. on Monday, June 3 until 3 p.m. on Friday, July 12, for major road reconstruction.

The northbound right lane on Centre Street between 6 Avenue S.W. and 5 Avenue S.W. is closed until further notice. This is due to emergency utility work.
 
Hull Avenue S.W. between Horton Road S.W. and Macleod Trail will be closed from 7 p.m. on Monday, June 3 until 3 p.m. on Friday, July 12, for major road reconstruction.

The City will be adjusting the bike lane road markings on Spruce Drive S.W. Work will begin along Spruce Drive S.W. between 3 Avenue and Cedar Crescent S.W. Wednesday, June 12 at 9 a.m. to afternoon. New lines will be painted starting Thursday, June 13 at midnight until 5 a.m. to accommodate school bus loading at Quest School on Spruce Drive S.W. Please obey all signage and watch for road crews along this route during working hours. There will be no road closures in place for this road work. Elbow Drive S.W. between 48 Avenue S.W. and 49 Avenue S.W. will have one lane closed in each direction from 6 p.m. on Friday, June 14 to 5 a.m. on Monday, June 17 for utilities installation.
 
Sarcee Trail S.W. south of 17 Avenue S.W. will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily Wednesday, June 12 and Thursday, June 14, for landscaping for West LRT.
 
Southeast
3 Street S.E. between 6 Avenue S.E. and 7 Avenue S.E. will have one lane closed in each direction from 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12 until 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, for construction.
 
11 Street S.E. at 21 Avenue S.E. will have one lane closed in each direction from 7 p.m. on Friday, June 14 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, for utilities.
 
Bannister Road S.E. between 151 Avenue S.E. and 153 Avenue S.E.  will be closed from 6 p.m. on Friday, June 14 until 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, for utilities.

90 Avenue S.E. between 48 Street S.E. and 52 Street S.E. will have one lane closed in each direction from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily between Monday, June 10 until Friday, June 14, for utilities.
 
Macleod Trail between 13 Avenue S.E. and 14 Avenue S.E. will have the two Centre Lanes closed from 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 13 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, for construction of underground utility.
 
Blackfoot Trail bridge over Glenmore Trail S.E. will have the speed limit reduced to 50 km/h starting at 5 a.m. Wednesday, June 12 and continuing through the 2014 construction season, for work related to the Blackfoot Trail Bridge rehabilitation project.  There will be various stages of construction which will have traffic pattern changes on Blackfoot Trail and lanes closures on both Blackfoot Trail and Glenmore Trail.  For further information please go to Calgary.ca and search “Blackfoot bridge”.

Centre Street S. between 7 Avenue S.E. and 6 Avenue S.E.  will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 7 a.m. on Friday, June 7 until 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, for construction.
 
Westbound 90 Avenue S.E. east of 52 Street S.E. will have the right lane closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily between Monday, June 10 until Friday, June 14, for utilities.
 
Westbound 90 Avenue S.E. west of 52 Street S.E. will have the right lane closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily between Monday, June 10 until Friday, June 14, for utilities.
 
Northbound 52 Street S.E. southof 90 Avenue S.E. will have the right lane closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily between Monday, June 10 until Friday, June 14, for utilities. The speed limit will be reduced to 50 kilometers per hour.

Northbound and southbound 52 Street S.E. at McKenzie Towne Avenue will have the right lane closed and speed limit reduced to 50 km/h from 9 a.m.to 3:30 p.m. daily, starting Wednesday, June 5 for approximately two weeks, to allow for installation of a new traffic signal.
 
Northwest
Sarcee Trail between John Laurie Boulevard and Crowchild Trail will be reduced to one lane in each direction starting at 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily between Tuesday, June 4 until Saturday, June 29, for sound wall replacement.

Eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. between Bowness Road and Shaganappi Trail will have various lane closures throughout the month of June until the end of June, for bridge rehabilitation.

Westbound 16 Avenue N.W. west of Sarcee Trail will have the right lane closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily throughout the month of June until the end of June, for noise wall replacement.
 
Bowness Road at 16 Avenue N.W. will have various lane closures throughout the month of June until the end of June, for bridge repair.
Eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. at Crowchild Trail will have the right lane closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily throughout the month of June until the end of June, for sound wall replacement.
 
Northeast
Southbound 36 Street N.E. at the Rundle CTrain Station will have the left lane closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily Wednesday, June 12 and Thursday, June 13, for LRT Platform Extension Project.
 
Long term projects – road closures and lane restrictions
 
Northwest
Eastbound 2 Avenue N.W. between 10 Street N.W. and 9A Street N.W. will be closed from 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8 until 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, for construction.
 
Bowness Road N.W. at 16 Avenue N.W. will have various daily lane restrictions, from 6 p.m. on Monday, May 21 until Sunday, June 30, for bridge rehabilitation project.
 
Northeast
36 Street N.E. will be closed between 80 Avenue N.E. and Country Hills Boulevard, beginning Monday, April 8, between Airport Trail and Country Hills Boulevard for the roadway to be reconstructed from two lanes to four lanes. The closure, which will last approximately four months, will allow Airport Trail connections to be made to 36 Street N.E. eastbound from the Airport Trail tunnel. Southwest
Westbound 13 Avenue S.W. between 1 Street S.W. to 4 Street S.W. will be closed starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, April 29, for approximately two months for the 13 Avenue Heritage Greenway Project.
 
Southeast
68 Street S.E. between 106 Avenue S.E. and 108 Avenue S.E. will have all traffic shifted to an adjacent eastside road, to allow for utility installations and surface upgrades, starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 6. The speed limit of the detour road will be reduced to 30 km/h. This stage of construction is expected to last until mid-June. Updates will be provided as the project progresses.
 
52 Street S.E. at 126 Avenue S.E., one lane will be reduced to one lane in each direction and there will be no left turns at the intersection from 7 a.m. on Friday, May 3 until the end of June, for utility installation.
