Calgary road closures and lane restrictions for July 12, 2013

Edmonton Trail between 31 Avenue N.E. to 36 Avenue N.E. will have traffic restricted to one lane in each direction starting at 6 a.m. on Friday, July 12 for approximately three months. In addition, access to 33 Avenue N.E. and 35 Avenue N.E. at Edmonton Trail on the east side will be closed. On July 6 at 6 a.m., Edmonton Trail between 28 Avenue N.E. to 31 Avenue N.E. will have traffic restricted to one lane in each direction. Access to 30 Avenue will be maintained. Along with the new lane restrictions on Edmonton Trail, 28 Avenue N.E. to 31 Avenue N.E. will be closed for approximately three months. The sidewalks along the east side will be closed and bus stops will be re-located or temporarily closed, for the Edmonton Trail Road Reconstruction Project.

 

Northwest
Eastbound Crowchild Trail from 12 Mile Coulee Road to Stoney Trail will be closed from 8 p.m. on Monday, July 15 to 5 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, for bridge construction.

 

Westbound Crowchild Trail from Stoney Trail to 12 Mile Coulee Road from 10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16 to 5 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, for bridge construction.

 

Southeast
The lower deck of the Centre Street bridge between Riverfront Avenue S.E. and Memorial Drive N.W. will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly starting on Monday, July 15 to Saturday, July 20, for bridge construction.

 

Westbound Glenmore Trail at Blackfoot Trail will have the two right lanes closed and the speed limit reduced to 50 km/h from 9 p.m. Friday, July 12 to 5 a.m. Saturday, July 13 to allow for work related to the Blackfoot Trail Bridge re-hab project.

 

Westbound Glenmore Trail at Blackfoot Trail will have the two left lanes closed and the speed limit reduced to 50 km/h from 9 p.m. Saturday, July 13 to 5 a.m. Sunday, July 14 to allow for work related to the Blackfoot Trail Bridge re-hab project.

 

Northbound and southbound Blackfoot Trail at the bridge over Glenmore Trail will have the two left lanes closed from 4 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sunday, July 14 to allow for work related to the Blackfoot Trail Bridge re-hab project.

 

Southbound Blackfoot Trail at the bridge over Glenmore Trail will have the right lane closed from 1 p.m. Sunday, July 14 to 5 a.m. Monday, July 15 to allow for work related to the Blackfoot Trail Bridge re-hab project.

 

Southbound Blackfoot Trail at the bridge over Glenmore Trail will have the right lane closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, July 15 to allow for work related to the Blackfoot Trail Bridge re-hab project.

 

Beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 15, the single lane bridge on 9 Avenue S.W. over 14 Street S.W.  will be closed. Traffic will be maintained on eastbound with two lanes on 9 Avenue S.W. over 14 Street S.W. In addition, 14 Street S.W. under the 9 Avenue S.W. bridge will have various lane closures starting at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 15 continuing until the end of September, for the 9 Avenue bridge over 14 Street S.W. rehabilitation.

 

14 Street S.W. under the 9 Avenue S.W. bridge in both directions and the sidewalk will be closed from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. on Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 20, for bridge construction work related to the 9 Avenue bridge over 14 street S.W. rehabilitation.

 

10 Street S.E. between 9 Avenue S.E. to 10 Avenue S.E. will be closed from 6 p.m. to midnight on Friday, July 12 to Saturday, July 13.

 

13 Avenue S.W. between 16 Street S.W. to 17 Street S.W. will be closed from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 13.

 

 

Northwest
19 Street N.W. between 1 Avenue N.W. and Kensington Road will be closed from 6 a.m. on Saturday, July 13 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, for utility work. Delays are expected in the area and motorists are advised to use 14 Street N.W. or Crowchild Trail as alternative route.

Westbound Crowchild Trail west of the Crowfoot LRT station will have the left lane closed and the speed limit will be reduced to 60 km/h starting at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, for utility.

 

Southeast
48 Street S.E.  north of 90 Avenue S.E. will be closed  from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily between Monday, July 15 until Friday, July 19, for utilities.

90 Avenue S.E. between 48 Street S.E. and 52 Street S.E. will have one lane closed in each direction from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily between Monday, July 15 until Friday, July, 19, for utilities.

 

Southbound 52 Street S.E. between 90 Avenue S.E. to 94 Avenue S.E. will be closed. In addition, northbound  52 Street S.E. between 90 Avenue S.E. to 94 Avenue S.E. will have the left lane closed. The speed limit will be reduced to 50 km/h. This road closure and lane restriction will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 12 until 5 a.m. on Monday, July 15, for utilities. Delays are expected in the area and motorists are advised to use Barlow Trail as alternative route.

 

52 Street S.E. between Glenmore Trail to 90 Avenue S.E. will have various lane closures starting at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily on Thursday, July 11 and Friday, July 12. In addition, the speed limit will be reduced to 50 km/h. This lane restriction will also occur at 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, for construction.

 

Southwest
Crowchild Trail between 50 Avenue S.W. to 26 Avenue S.W. will have various lane closures starting at 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily on Friday, July 12 to Monday, July 15, for construction.

Elbow Drive S.W. between Anderson Road and Glenmore Trail will have various lanes closed daily during off-peak traffic hours, starting Saturday, June 29 until mid-July to allow for paving. Calgary Police Service will be on site to assist with traffic control as paving crews progress through intersections.

 

 

Northeast
36 Street N.E. will be closed between 80 Avenue N.E. and Country Hills Boulevard, beginning Monday, April 8, between Airport Trail and Country Hills Boulevard for the roadway to be reconstructed from two lanes to four lanes. The closure, which will last approximately four months, will allow Airport Trail connections to be made to 36 Street N.E. eastbound from the Airport Trail tunnel. Westbound 13 Avenue S.W. between 1 Street S.W. to 4 Street S.W. will be closed starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, April 29 to the beginning of September, for the 13 Avenue Heritage Greenway Project.

 

1 Street S.W. and 1 A Street S.W. between 50 Avenue S.W. and 55 Avenue S.W. will have various lane closures from 9 a.m. on Monday, July 8 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, for an underground utility installation.
