Calgary road closures and lane restrictions for April 3, 2013
Northbound Deerfoot closed at 17 Avenue S.E.
Northbound Deerfoot Trail at 17 Avenue S.E. will remain closed while crews continue to clear and secure the roadway. This closure may continue into the evening commute. Please plan to take alternate routes, such as Barlow Trail, Peigan Trail, and Blackfoot Trail.

The City’s Traffic Management Centre has made adjustments to accommodate the high traffic volumes expected along alternative routes. However, delays can be expected along roadways surrounding this closure.

Celebration of Life for the Ralph Klein Ceremony
Northbound Macleod Trail between 6 Avenue S.E. and 9 Avenue S.E., will be closed, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, April 5, for the Celebration of Life Ralph Klein Ceremony.

Eastbound 9 Avenue S.E. between 1 Street S.E. and Macleod Trail, the north lane will be closed, from 9 a.m. on Thursday, April 4 to 3p.m. on Friday, April 5, for the Celebration of Life Ralph Klein Ceremony.
Northeast
36 Street N.E. will be closed between 80 Avenue N.E. and Country Hills Boulevard, beginning Monday, April 8, for the roadway between Airport Trail and Country Hills Boulevard to be reconstructed from two lanes to four lanes. The closure, which will last approximately four months, will allow Airport Trail connections to be made to 36 Street N.E. eastbound from the Airport Trail tunnel. Motorists are advised to use Métis Trail N.E. as an alternative route.
Southeast
Southbound 3 Street S.E. between 6 Avenue S.E. and 7 Avenue S.E., curb lane will be closed, until 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, for roadway repairs.

36 Street N.E. will be closed between 80 Avenue N.E. and Country Hills Boulevard, beginning Monday, April 8, for the roadway between Airport Trail and Country Hills Boulevard to be reconstructed from two lanes to four lanes. Southbound 3 Street S.E. between 6 Avenue S.E. and 7 Avenue S.E., curb lane will be closed, until 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, for roadway repairs.
62 Avenue S.E. between 17A Street S.E. and 18 Street S.E., will be closed, from 9 a.m. Thursday, April 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 7, to allow for sewer main replacement. Local traffic will be directed to 60 Avenue S.E. to bypass the construction. Alternate routes are recommended as delays are expected.
Memorial Drive between 47 Street S.E. and Forest Road, will be reduced to one lane in each direction, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, from Thursday, April 4 to Tuesday, April 9, for water services repair.
Eastbound Memorial Drive S.E., between 39 Street S.E. and 44 Street S.E., will be reduced to one lane daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. starting Tuesday, April 2 and ending Friday, April 5 for utility repair.

68 Street S.E. between 106 Avenue S.E. and 108 Avenue S.E. will have all traffic shifted to an adjacent eastside road, to allow for utility installations and surface upgrades, starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 6. The speed limit of the detour road will be reduced to 30 km/h. This stage of construction is expected to last for approximately 30 days. Updates will be provided as the project progresses.
100 Street S.E., between Glenmore Trail and Venture Avenue, will be closed for approximately six weeks starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 2 to allow for water service upgrades and utility connections. Traffic will be directed to 84 Street S.E. to bypass the construction. Local business access will be maintained.
Northbound Deerfoot Trail S.E., between highway 22X and Cranston Avenue/Seton Boulevard S.E., will be diverted to the southbound lanes nightly, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. starting April 1 and lasting to April 13. Traffic speeds will be reduced to 50km/h in the construction zone and motorists may experience intermittent stops for the delivery of bridge girders. This traffic detour is to facilitate bridge construction on Stoney Trail.
Southwest
The three left lanes will be closed on westbound 6 Avenue S.W. at 2 Street S.W. In addition, the two left lanes will be closed on northbound 2 Street S.W. at 6 Avenue S.W. from 9 p.m. Thursday, April 4 to 5 a.m. Friday, April 5, to allow for water service utility upgrades. Alternate routes are recommended as delays are expected.
4 Street S.W. between 22 Avenue S.W. and 23 Avenue S.W., will be closed, from 10 a.m. on Friday, April 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, for the installation of an underground utility.
7 Street S.W., at the intersections of 7 Avenue S.W., is scheduled for the installation of underground utilities from Monday, April 1, to Thursday, April 4. The following is the schedule of road closures for this area:

In addition, the two left lanes will be closed on northbound 2 Street S.W. at 6 Avenue S.W. from 9 p.m. Thursday, April 4 to 5 a.m. Friday, April 5, to allow for water service utility upgrades. Alternate routes are recommended as delays are expected.
4 Street S.W. between 22 Avenue S.W. and 23 Avenue S.W., will be closed, from 10 a.m. on Friday, April 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, for the installation of an underground utility.
7 Street S.W., at the intersections of 7 Avenue S.W., is scheduled for the installation of underground utilities from Monday, April 1, to Thursday, April 4. The following is the schedule of road closures for this area:
- Temporary roadway restrictions: Southbound 7 Street S.W., at 7 Avenue S.W., will be reduced to a single traffic lane with temporary parking restrictions between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., daily. Pedestrian access will be maintained with the occasional closure for construction.
The two left lanes of northbound 4 Street S.W. at 10 Avenue S.W. In addition, 10 Avenue S.W. westbound will be closed between 4 Street S.W. and 5 Street S.W., from 9 a.m. Thursday, March 28 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, to allow for water service upgrades and main replacement.
Traffic will be directed to use either 11 Avenue S.W. or 6 Avenue S.W. to bypass the construction. Also, the west sidewalk will be closed on 4 Street S.W. between 10 Avenue S.W. and 8 Avenue S.W. during the same timeframe.
The three left lanes will be closed on westbound 6 Avenue S.W. at Centre Street. In addition, the left lanes will be closed in both directions on Centre Street at 6 Avenue S.W. from 11 p.m. Wednesday, April 3 to 5 a.m. Thursday, April 4, to allow for water service utility upgrades. Alternate routes are recommended as delays are expected.
The three left lanes will be closed on westbound 11 Avenue S.W. between 13 Street S.W. and 14 Street S.W. In addition, the left lane will be closed in each direction on northbound and southbound 14 Street S.W. at 11 Avenue S.W. from 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 3 to 5 a.m. Thursday, April 4, to allow for water service utility upgrades. Alternate routes are recommended as delays are expected.
