Calgary road closures and lane restrictions for April 11, 2013

Special events
Mount Royal University Sprint Triathlon – Sunday, April 14
  • The right lane on 33 Avenue S.W. will be closed between Sarcee Road and Crowchild Trail from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 14.
  • The right lane will be closed on Southbound Crowchild Trail, between 33 Avenue S.W. and Mount Royal Gate from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 14.
  • Calgary Police will be on-site. Motorists should drive with caution and watch for cyclists.
  • Motorists are advised to watch for cyclists on Sarcee Road between Richardson Way and 33 Avenue S.W.
Northeast
Rundleview Road N.E. at 5219 Rundleview Road, will be closed in both directions, between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, April 12, for utilities upgrades.

36 Street N.E. will be closed between 80 Avenue N.E. and Country Hills Boulevard, beginning Monday, April 8, between Airport Trail and Country Hills Boulevard for the roadway to be reconstructed from two lanes to four lanes. The closure, which will last approximately four months, will allow Airport Trail connections to be made to 36 Street N.E. eastbound from the Airport Trail tunnel. Motorists are advised to use Métis Trail N.E. as an alternative route. For more information, visit 36 Street N.E. road reconstruction and widening.
 
Northbound Barlow Trail N.E. at 100 Avenue N.E., will be reduced to one lane. In addition, eastbound 100 Avenue N.E. at Barlow Trail will be closed. Motorists are advised to use Freeport Boulevard as an alternative route. Starting at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 15 until 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, for utilities upgrades.
 
Southbound 36 Street N.E. at 8 Avenue N.E., the left lane will be closed, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, from Monday, April 8 to Friday, April 12, for LRT platform construction.
 
Northwest
4 Street N.W. between 16 Avenue N.W. and 14 Avenue N.W., will be closed, from 6 a.m. on Saturday, April 13 until 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, for water services repairs. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes such as, 10 Street N.W., as delays are expected in this area.
 
10 Street N.W. at 19 Avenue N.W., will be reduced to one lane, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, for water services repair.
 
Eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. between 14 Street N.W. and Centre Street N., will be reduced to one lane, between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, from Saturday, April 13 until Sunday, April 14, for landscaping.
 
Westbound 16 Avenue N.W. west of Sarcee Trail, one lane will be closed, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, from Tuesday, April 9 until Friday, April 19, for noise wall replacement.
 
Eastbound Memorial Drive between Crowchild Trail and 19 Street N.W., will be reduced to one lane, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, from Tuesday, April 9 until Friday, April 19, for water services.

Southeast
6 Avenue S.E. between 1 Street S.E. and Centre Street will be reduced to two centre lanes, between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  daily,  from Thursday, April 11 to Friday, April 12, for construction.

Intersection of 5 Avenue S.E. and Centre Street, will have various single lane closures, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, from Wednesday, April 10 to Friday, April 12, for construction.
 
62 Avenue S.E. at 18A Street S.E. will be closed, from 9 a.m. on Thursday, April 11 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, for sewer main repairs in the intersection. Local traffic will be directed to 64 Avenue S.E. to bypass the construction. Alternate routes are recommended as delays are expected.
 
68 Street S.E. between 106 Avenue S.E. and 108 Avenue S.E. will have all traffic shifted to an adjacent eastside road, to allow for utility installations and surface upgrades, starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 6. The speed limit of the detour road will be reduced to 30 km/h. This stage of construction is expected to last until mid-May. Updates will be provided as the project progresses.
 
100 Street S.E., between Glenmore Trail and Venture Avenue, will be closed for approximately six weeks starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 2 to allow for water service upgrades and utility connections. Traffic will be directed to 84 Street S.E. to bypass the construction. Local business access will be maintained.
 
Northbound Deerfoot Trail S.E., between Highway 22X and Cranston Avenue/Seton Boulevard S.E., will be diverted to the southbound lanes nightly, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. starting April 1 and lasting to April 13. Traffic speeds will be reduced to 50km/h in the construction zone and motorists may experience intermittent stops for the delivery of bridge girders.  This traffic detour is to facilitate bridge construction on Stoney Trail.
 
Southwest
7 Street S.W. at 7 Avenue S.W. will have the right lane closed, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, for construction.
Centre Street between 6 Avenue S.W. and 8 Avenue S.W., will be closed, from 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 until 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, for utilities work.

17 Avenue S.W. at 14A Street S.W., the two eastbound lanes and the one westbound lane will be closed, from 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 13 until 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, for emergency water main break repair.

85 Street S.W. between Lower Springbank Road and Fortress Drive, will be closed, from 8 a.m. on Thursday, April 11 until 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, for utility construction.
