Calgary road closures and lane restrictions - October 8, 2013

New road closures and lane restrictions

Northeast

Westbound Memorial Drive will be closed from 36 Street N.E. to Barlow Trail (at Franklin LRT Station) from 8 p.m. on Friday, October 11 until 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 12 for platform construction.

Northwest

Northbound Sarcee Trail N.W. will be reduced to one lane north of Country Hills Boulevard N.W. from 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8 to 5 a.m. on Wednesday, October 9 for utility work.

Southeast

28 Street S.E. is closed between 26 Avenue and 28 Avenue S.E. until 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 10 for utility work.

The right lane will be closed on northbound Blackfoot Trail S.E. at the bridge over Glenmore Trail from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9 for concrete work related to the Blackfoot Trail Bridge Project. The speed will be reduced to 30 km/h during construction, and will remain in effect until 12 noon on Friday, October 11 to allow the concrete to cure.

Southwest

The two right lanes will be closed on southbound Macleod Trail at James McKevitt Road starting on from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily until Friday, October 11 for roadwork. The speed will be restricted to 50 km/h during this time. The exit to James Mckevitt Road will remain open during construction.

The right lane on southbound 14 Street S.W. will be closed at 9 Avenue S.W. from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8 for bridge work.

The left turning lane will be closed on southbound 45 Street S.W. at 17 Avenue S.W. on Wednesday, October 9 from 9 a.m. to noon for crosswalk construction.

The left turning lane will be closed on northbound 45 Street S.W. at 17 Avenue S.W. on Wednesday, October 9 from noon to 3 p.m. for crosswalk construction.

Eastbound 17 Avenue S.W. will be closed between 1 Street S.W. and 2 Street S.W. from 9 a.m. on Wednesday, October 9 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 11 for emergency water service repairs. Traffic will be redirected to 9 Avenue S.W. Local traffic will be directed to 18 Avenue S.W. During this time, westbound 17 Avenue S.W. will be reduced to one lane between 1 Street S.W. and 2 Street S.W. Local business access will be maintained. Delays are expected, and drivers are encouraged to take alternate routes.

Malibou Road S.W. will be closed between Elbow Drive and MacKay Drive S.W. from 7 a.m. on Thursday, October 10 until 8 a.m. on Monday, October 14 for utility work.
