Calgary road closures and lane restrictions - October 18, 2013

Southwest

The right lane on northbound Blackfoot Trail will be closed and the speed reduced to 30 km/h at the bridge over Glenmore Trail from 2 p.m. Saturday, October 19 to 5 a.m. Monday, October 21 for concrete pours related to the Blackfoot Trail Bridge project. Alternate routes are recommended as delays are expected.

The right lane on southbound Crowchild Trail will be closed at 33 Avenue S.W. from 9 a.m. Friday, October 18 to 10 p.m. Sunday, October 20 for utility work.

Eastbound 42 Avenue S.W. is closed between Stanley Road and Macleod Trail S.W. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 19 for underground utility repairs.

Eastbound 17 Avenue S.W. will be reduced to one lane in each direction west of 14 Street S.W. from 7 a.m. on Saturday, October 19 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 20. The right lane of southbound 14 Street S.W. will also be closed at 17 Avenue S.W. during this time.

85 Street S.W. will be closed at 26 Avenue S.W. for utilities installation starting at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23for approximately one week. Northbound traffic is asked to redirect to 69 Street S.W. to 17 Avenue S.W. for access. Southbound traffic will be redirected to 69 Street S.W. to Springbank Boulevard S.W.

Richmond Road is closed just east of 37 Street S.W. from 7 p.m. on Friday, October 18 until noon on Sunday, October 20 for utility work.

Two left lanes will be closed on 4 Street S.W. between 10 Avenue and 8 Avenue S.W. on Saturday, October 19 at 7 a.m. until Sunday, October 20 at 5 p.m. for road construction.

Southeast

40 Street S.E. will be closed between 61 Avenue and 64 Avenue S.E. from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, October 19 for utility work . Traffic will be detoured to 36 Street S.E. and 44 Street S.E. Local business access will be maintained.

Southbound 52 Street S.E. will be closed between 68 Street S.E. and 72 Street S.E. on Friday, October 18 at 7 p.m. until Monday, October 21 at 5 a.m. for utility work.

One lane will be closed on southbound 52 Street S.E . from 68 Street S.E. to 72 Street S.E. from Monday, October 21 at 5 a.m. until Tuesday, October 22 at 6 p.m. for utility work.

Eastbound 50 Avenue S.E. has been closed between 1A Street and 2 Street S.E. for emergency gas line repairs. Traffic will be detoured to 53 Avenue S.E. via 1A Street S.E. This closure is expected to last until the evening of Monday, October 21.

The right will be closed on westbound 17 Avenue S.E. at 38 Street S.E. on Monday, October 21 at 3 p.m. until Wednesday, October 23 at 3 p.m. for roadwork.

Northwest

19 Street N.W. will be closed between Kensington Road and 1 Avenue N.W. from 6 p.m. on Friday, October 25 until 8 p.m. on Sunday , October 27 for roadwork. Local business access will be maintained.

48 Street N.W. will be closed between 22 Street N.W. and 23 Street N.W. from 7 a.m. on October 18 until 8 p.m. on October 20 for utility work. Local traffic will be maintained.

Northeast

Southbound Barlow Trail N.E. is reduced to one lane at 16 Avenue N.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily until Friday, November 8 for roadwork. The ramp from eastbound 16 Avenue to southbound Barlow Trail will be narrowed during this time.

10 Avenue N.E. will be closed at 4 Street N.E. on Monday, October 21 until Wednesday, October 23 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily for utility work.

11 Avenue S.W. will be closed between 1 Street S.W. and 2 Street S.W. from 7 a.m. on Saturday, October 19 until 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 20 for utility work.

Special Events

Open 4 Business 4 Street BRZ event - Saturday, October 19 – 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

4 Street S.W. will be closed between 13 Avenue and 26 Avenue S.W. 17 Avenue S.W. will remain open. Police will be on-site, please follow all traffic controls.
