Calgary road closures and lane restrictions - October 10, 2013

Calgary, AB – October 10, 2013 For immediate release

*Emergency closure**

Flint Road S.E. is closed between Fairmount Drive S.E . and Heritage Drive S.E. for an emergency water main break. The road is expected to reopen at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 11.

Northwest

20 Avenue N.W. will be closed between 6 Street N.W. and 7 Street N.W. starting Friday, October 11 at 9 a.m. until Sunday, October 13 at 6 p.m.

Southbound Shaganappi Trail will be reduced to one lane from John Laurie Boulevard to Dalhousie Drive N.W. from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 12 and Sunday, October 13 for paving. The ramps from southbound Shaganappi Trail to Dalhousie Drive N.W. will be closed during this time. Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes.

Southeast

One lane will be closed on northbound Macleod Trail between 9 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. on Friday, October 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for sidewalk repairs.

Memorial Drive S.E. will be reduced to one lane at 47 Street S.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, October 11 for tree pruning.

42 Avenue S.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Manhattan Road S.E. and Blackfoot Trail S.E. from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 13 for paving.

Westbound 46 Avenue S.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction from Highfield Road to Blackfoot Trail from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 13 for paving.

Eastbound 61 Avenue S.E. will be closed between Barlow Trail and 36 Street S.E. from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, October 12 for gas main upgrades. Traffic will be detoured to 72 Avenue S.E.

Southwest

The two right lanes will be closed on southbound Macleod Trail at James McKevitt Road from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily until Friday, October 11 for roadwork. The speed will be restricted to 50 km/h during this time. The exit to James Mckevitt Road will remain open during construction.

The right lane on northbound 45 Street S.W. will be closed at 17 Avenue S.W. on Thursday, October 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for crosswalk construction.

Malibou Road S.W. is closed between Elbow Drive and MacKay Drive S.W. from until 8 a.m. on Monday, October 14 for utility work.

Eastbound 17 Avenue S.W. will be closed between 1 Street S.W. and 2 Street S.W. until 8 p.m. on Friday, October 11 for emergency water service repairs. Traffic will be redirected to 9 Avenue S.W. Local traffic will be directed to 18 Avenue S.W. During this time, westbound 17 Avenue S.W. will be reduced to one lane between 1 Street S.W. and 2 Street S.W. Local business access will be maintained. Delays are expected, and drivers are encouraged to take alternate routes.

Northeast

Westbound Memorial Drive will be closed from 36 Street N.E. to Barlow Trail (at Franklin LRT Station) from 8 p.m. on Friday, October 11 until 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 12 for platform construction.
