Calgary road closures and lane restrictions for July 25, 2014

Northeast
NEW: The westbound right lane will be closed on Metis Trail at 80 Avenue N.E. on Saturday, July 26 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for roadwork.
NEW: The intersection of 128 Avenue N.E. and Skyview Ranch Road N.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 9 a.m. on Monday, July 28 until September 30 for underground utility work.
17 Avenue N.E. and 18 Avenue N.E. are closed at Edmonton Trail until late August due to the Edmonton Trail road reconstruction project.
Northwest
Southbound 14 Street N.W. will be reduced to one lane between 5 Avenue N.W. and 2 Avenue N.W. from 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 24 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 26 due to building construction. At this time the sidewalk on southbound 14 Street N.W. will be closed as well.
Southbound Crowchild Trail will be reduced to a single lane from 16 Avenue N.W. to University Drive N.W. from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Thursday, July 24 and Friday, July 25.
There will be various lane closures at Shaganappi Trail and Northland Drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily until Friday, July 25 due to bike lane improvements and road repaving.
Northbound Crowchild Trail will be reduced to one lane at University Drive N.W. from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly until Sunday, August 31 due to bridge deck repairs.
The right lanes on north and southbound Northland Drive N.W. will be closed throughout the summer due to bike lane improvements and road repaving.
Symons Valley Road is completely closed between 144 Avenue N.W. and Sage Meadow Circle. This closure is expected to last until December 2014. During this time, all heavy truck traffic will be detoured to Shaganappi Trail, and local traffic will be detoured via Sage Hill Drive to 144 Avenue N.W. Visit the webpage for further information.
Southeast
NEW: There will be various lane closures on 114 Avenue S.E. between 64 Street and Stoney Trail S.E. from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily starting Saturday, July 26 until Friday, August 1 (except Sunday) for paving preparation. Speed will be reduced to 50 km/h during this time.
The exit ramp from westbound 114 Avenue S.E. to northbound 24 Street S.E. will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily until Friday, July 25 due to traffic signal work. Motorists are advised to watch for detours.
Westbound 130 Avenue S.E. will be closed between 52 Street S.E. and Copperpond Boulevard S.E. until Thursday, September 11 due to major utility work. The speed limit in the area will be reduced to 50 km/h. Residents are advised to use McIvor Boulevard S.E. to 52 Street S.E.
5 Street S.E. will be closed between 8 Avenue and 9 Avenue S.E. until August 17 for East Village construction.
Confluence Way S.E. will be closed between 6 Avenue and Riverfront Avenue until Sunday, July 27 at 6 p.m.
There are various lane closures on 9 Avenue S.E. between 3 Street S.E. and 6 Street S.E. until the end of August. There are also various closures on 6 Street S.E. between 9 Avenue and 6 Avenue S.E. for East Village construction.
Southwest
NEW: Bow Trail will be reduced to one eastbound lane and two westbound lanes between 37 Street S.W. and 45 Street S.W. starting at 7 a.m. Saturday, July 26 until 9 p.m. Sunday, July 27, for paving. Calgary Police Service will be on site to assist at times with traffic control. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.
NEW: The two centre lanes on 5 Avenue S.W. between 1 Street S.W. and Centre Street will be closed until Sunday, August 17 due to utility work.
NEW: Two left lanes on westbound Glenmore Trail will be closed between 14 Street S.W. and Richard Road S.W. from 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 24 to 5:30 a.m. on Friday, July 25 due to road work.
NEW: The speed will be reduced to 50 km/h on southbound Ogden Road at 50 Avenue S.E. while crews work on flood recovery work. This work will be ongoing until august 14. Watch for flagmen.
NEW: Maggie Street will be closed at Macdonald Avenue S.E. from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 26 for utility work.
13 Avenue S.W. will be closed between 9 Street S.W. and 10 Street S.W. until Friday, July 25 due to utility work.
- Southbound 14 Street S.W. will be closed between 10 Avenue S.W. and 17 Avenue S.W. until Sunday, September 7 due to road resurfacing. Two-way traffic will be allowed in the northbound lanes at this time.
There will be various lane closures on 14 Street S.W. between Heritage Drive and Anderson Road until August for operational improvements. More information is available on the website.
The left lane and sidewalk are closed on 11 Avenue S.W. between 11 Street S.W. and 12 Street S.W. until Tuesday, September 30 due to building construction.
Special Events
Sunday, July 27 from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- 19 Street S.W. will be closed between 50 Avenue S.W. and 56 Avenue S.W.
- Please obey all temporary traffic controls. Police will be on-site to monitor traffic.
Sunday, July 27 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- The right lane on 52 Street S.E. will be closed between Auburn Bay Avenue S.E. and Auburn Bay Drive S.E.
- The right lane on Highway 22X will be closed from east of Macleod Trail to 6 Street S.W.
- The ramp from southbound Macleod Trail onto westbound Highway 22X will be closed.
- The ramp from southbound 6 Street S.W. onto westbound Highway 22X will be closed.
- Left turns will be restricted from northbound Sheriff King Road S.W. onto Highway 22X.
- The ramp from westbound Spruce Meadows Trail onto northbound James McKevitt Road S.W. will be closed.
- The right lane will be closed on southbound James McKevitt Road S.W. at Spruce Meadows Trail.
- The ramp from westbound Spruce Meadows Trail onto northbound 24 Street S.W. will be closed.
- The ramp from eastbound Glenmore Trail onto southbound Discovery Ridge Boulevard S.W. will be closed.
- The ramp from northbound Discovery Ridge Boulevard S.W. onto eastbound Glenmore Trail will be closed.
- The right lane will be closed on Sarcee Trail between Glenmore Trail and 37 Street S.W.
- Speed will be reduced to 60 km/h on Glenmore Trail between 101 Street S.W. and Sarcee Trail.
- Motorists are advised to watch for cyclists along Glenmore Trail and Highway 22X, and obey all temporary traffic controls.
