Calgary road closures and lane restrictions - July 14, 2014
Northeast
There will be various lane closures on 32 Street N.E. between 20 Avenue N.E. to 39 Avenue N.E. until the end of July due to road resurfacing.
17 Avenue N.E. and 18 Avenue N.E. are closed at Edmonton Trail until late August due to the Edmonton Trail road reconstruction project.
Northwest
The left lane on southbound Nose Hill Drive N.W. will be closed at Silver Springs Boulevard N.W. until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15 due to utility work. At the same time the left lane on westbound Silver Springs Boulevard N.W. will be closed at Nose Hill Drive N.W.
Northbound Crowchild Trail will be reduced to one lane at University Drive N.W. from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly until Sunday, August 31 due to bridge deck repairs.
The right lanes on north and southbound Northland Drive N.W. will be closed throughout the summer due to bike lane improvements and road repaving.
Symons Valley Road is completely closed between 144 Avenue N.W. and Sage Meadow Circle. This closure is expected to last until December 2014. During this time, all heavy truck traffic will be detoured to Shaganappi Trail, and local traffic will be detoured via Sage Hill Drive to 144 Avenue N.W. Visit the webpage for further information.
Southeast
NEW: The right lane will be closed on northbound and southbound 52 Street S.E. at Peigan Trail from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily starting Tuesday, July 15 until Friday, July 18, for work related to the Peigan Trail extension project. 52 Street S.E. is already part of a construction zone with a reduced speed limit of 60 km/h that will remain in effect 24/7 due to construction activities adjacent to the roadway.
Westbound 130 Avenue S.E. will be closed between 52 Street S.E. and Copperpond Boulevard S.E. from 7 a.m. on Monday, July 14 to Thursday, August 14 due to major utility work. The speed limit in the area will be reduced to 50 km/h. Residents are advised to use McIvor Boulevard S.E. to 52 Street S.E.
5 Street S.E. will be closed between 8 Avenue and 9 Avenue S.E. starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, July 14 until August 17 for East Village construction.
Conlfuence Way S.E. will be closed between 6 Avenue and Riverfront Avenue on Monday, July 14 at 7 a.m. until July 27 at 6 p.m.
There are various lane closures on 9 Avenue S.E. between 3 Street S.E. and 6 Street S.E. until the end of August. There are also various closures on 6 Street S.E. between 9 Avenue and 6 Avenue S.E. for East Village construction.
Southwest
NEW: There will be various single lane closures on Bow Trail between Sarcee Trail and 46 Street S.W. and the speed limit will be reduced to 50 km/h from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily starting Tuesday, July 15 until Friday, July 18 for paving preparation.
NEW: Bow Trail will be reduced to one eastbound lane and two westbound lanes at 45 Street S.W. from 7 a.m. on Sunday, July 13 until 10 p.m. on Thursday, July 17 for roadway construction and paving. In addition, 45 Street S.W. will be closed south of Bow Trail with traffic directed to use 37 Street S.W.
NEW: 27 Street S.W. will be closed between 17 Avenue and 19 Avenue on Monday, July 14 from 8 a.m. until Friday, July 18 at 6 p.m. for watermain replacement.
- Work is expected to start on southbound 14 Street S.W. between 10 Avenue S.W. and 17 Avenue S.W. resulting in lane closures beginning in mid-July.
Westbound Bow Trail will be reduced to one lane east of Crowchild Trail from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday until mid-July for noise barrier construction.
There will be various lane closures on 14 Street S.W. between Heritage Drive and Anderson Road until August for operational improvements. More information is available on the website.
The left lane and sidewalk are closed on 11 Avenue S.W. between 11 Street S.W. and 12 Street S.W. until Tuesday, September 30 due to building construction.
