Calgary Road Closures - September 30, 2014
Northeast
Updated: There will be various lane closures on 32 Avenue N.E. between 12 Street N.E. to 36 Street N.E. from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily until Wednesday, October 15 for road paving.
There will be a right lane closure on 32 Avenue N.E. between 12 Street N.E. to Barlow Trail. until Friday, October 3, for road paving.
Edmonton Trail will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 16 Avenue N.E. and 28 Avenue N.E. Access to 18 Avenue N.E. and 21 Avenue N.E. through 23 Avenue N.E. will be restricted from Edmonton Trail. Construction will continue until late fall on the Edmonton Trail road reconstruction project.
Northwest
NEW: There will be a right lane closure on northbound 14 St N.W. & North Haven Dr N.W. on Wednesday, October 1 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. due to construction.
There will be various lane closures on Country Hills Boulevard N.W. between Nosehill Drive and Shaganappi Trail starting Friday, September 26 until Saturday, October 4 due to construction.
Symons Valley Road is completely closed between 144 Avenue N.W. and Sage Meadow Circle. This closure is expected to last until December 2014. During this time, all heavy truck traffic will be detoured to Shaganappi Trail, and local traffic will be detoured via Sage Hill Drive to 144 Avenue N.W. Visit the webpage for further information.
Southeast
6 Avenue S.E. will be closed between Confluence Way and 4 Street S.E. until October 10, due to construction.
There will be various lane closures on 17 Avenue S.E. and Hubalta Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends until Sunday, October 5 due to road work.
The sidewalk on the south side of 7 Avenue S.E. will be closed between 3 Street S.E. and 4 Street S.E. from Saturday, September 29 to Saturday, November 15 due to Central Library construction.
Southbound Highfield Road will be closed between 26 Avenue S.E. and Blackfoot Trail from 7 a.m. on Wednesday, September 17 to 6 p.m. on Monday, November 17 due to flood related slope reconstruction. Motorists are advised to access Blackfoot Trail from 26 Avenue S.E.
94 Avenue S.E. will be closed between 52 Street S.E. and 60 Street S.E. until Friday, October 31 due to utility work. At the same time, 60 Street S.E. will be closed between 90 Avenue S.E. and 94 Avenue S.E. Business access will be maintained.
There will be various lane closures on Spiller Road S.E. south of 25 Avenue S.E. starting Tuesday, August 26 until Tuesday, October 21 due to utility work.
4 Street S.E. will be closed between 9 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. until the end of January 2015. This closure is needed to facilitate the construction of the +60 pedestrian bridge at the National Music Centre.
Southwest
NEW: 3 Avenue SW between 5 and 6 Street will be closed on Thursday, October 2 from 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. for crane operations.
NEW: 2 Street SW between 5 and 6 Avenue will be down to a single lane starting on Wednesday, October 1 through Friday, October 10 for utility work.
Sifton Boulevard will be closed between 7 Street S.W. and 8 Street S.W. until Saturday, October 4 to accommodate construction on the Riverdale Avenue Pedestrian Bridge. Traffic will be detoured to 38 Avenue S.W.
The parking lane on 4 Avenue S.W. from 1 St S.W. west to the Plus 15 will be closed until October 3, due to construction repair on Fifth Ave Place.
Special Events
Harvest Half Marathon – Saturday October 4 from 7 a.m. – 11 a.m.
The right lane will be closed on northbound Sun Valley Boulevard S.E. from Midlake Boulevard S.E. to Fish Creek park entrance.
The right lane will be closed on westbound 146 Avenue S.E. from Midridge Place S.E. to Bannister Road S.E.
The right lane will be closed on northbound and westbound Bannister Road S.E. from 146 Avenue S.E. to Shawnee Drive S.E.
The right lane will be closed on Shawnee Drive S.W. from Bannister Road S.W. to Evergreen Street S.W.
There will be various right lane closures in the Midnapore Lake area; please watch for runners on the route. Calgary Police Service will be on site. Motorists are advised to follow all traffic control devices.
CIBC Run for the Cure – Sunday October 5, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon
Willow Park Drive S.E. will be closed from Bonaventure Drive to Acadia Drive S.E.
Acadia Drive S.E. will be closed from Willow Park Drive S.E. to Willingdon Boulevard S.E.
Willingdon Boulevard S.E. will be closed from Bonaventure Drive S.E. to Acadia Drive S.E.
