Calgary Road Closures - September 25, 2014
Northeast
NEW: McKnight Boulevard will be reduced to one lane in each direction east of 4 Street N.E. from 9 p.m. on Friday, September 26 to 5 a.m. Monday, September 29- due to bridge work.
12 Street N.E. over Memorial Drive will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. until Saturday, September 27 due to bridge work.
There will be various lane closures on 32 Avenue N.E. between 12 Street N.E. to 36 Street N.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily until Tuesday, September 30 for road paving.
The intersection of Skyview Ranch Road and 128 Avenue N.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction until September 30 for utility work.
Edmonton Trail construction is proceeding in the two east lanes from 16 to 28 Ave. N.E., with traffic running in the two west lanes, one lane in each direction. On the east side at Edmonton Trail: 18, 21, 22 and 23 Avenues are closed. Access is available from the east. A major traffic switch will occur in early October. Construction will continue until late fall on the Edmonton Trail road reconstruction project.
Northwest
NEW: 20 Avenue N.W. will be closed between 13 Street N.W. and 12 Street N.W. from 6 p.m. on Friday, September 26 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 28.
NEW: 12 Avenue N.W. will be closed between 1 Street N.W. and 2 Street N.W. from 6 p.m. on Friday, September 26 to 5 a.m. on Monday, September 29 due to utility work.
NEW: 64 Avenue N.W. will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 4 Street N.W. and Norfolk Drive N.W. until September 28, between 07:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. due to utility work.
NEW: There will be various lane closures on Country Hills Boulevard N.W. between Nosehill Drive and Shaganappi Trail starting Friday, September 26 until Saturday, October 4 due to construction.
19 Street N.W. will be closed between 12 Avenue N.W. and 14 Avenue N.W. from 7 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30 due to utility work.
Symons Valley Road is completely closed between 144 Avenue N.W. and Sage Meadow Circle. This closure is expected to last until December 2014. During this time, all heavy truck traffic will be detoured to Shaganappi Trail, and local traffic will be detoured via Sage Hill Drive to 144 Avenue N.W. Visit the webpage for further information.
Southeast
NEW: 6 Avenue S.E. will be closed between Confluence Way and 4 Street S.E. - from 9 a.m. on Friday, September 26 to October 10, due to construction.
42 Avenue S.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction at 1 Street S.E. from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, September 26 due to utility work.
There will be various lane closures on 17 Avenue S.E. and Hubalta Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends until Sunday, October 5 due to road work.
The sidewalk on the south side of 7 Avenue S.E. will be closed between 3 Street S.E. and 4 Street S.E. from Saturday, September 29 to Saturday, November 15 due to Central Library construction.
Southbound Highfield Road will be closed between 26 Avenue S.E. and Blackfoot Trail from 7 a.m. on Wednesday, September 17 to 6 p.m. on Monday, November 17 due to flood related slope reconstruction. Motorists are advised to access Blackfoot Trail from 26 Avenue S.E.
27 Street S.E. will be closed between 85 Avenue S.E. and 86 Avenue S.E. from Monday, September 15 to Monday, September 29 due to utility installation.
94 Avenue S.E. will be closed between 52 Street S.E. and 60 Street S.E. until Friday, October 31 due to utility work. At the same time, 60 Street S.E. will be closed between 90 Avenue S.E. and 94 Avenue S.E. Business access will be maintained.
There will be various lane closures on Spiller Road S.E. south of 25 Avenue S.E. starting Tuesday, August 26 until Tuesday, October 21 due to utility work.
4 Street S.E. will be closed between 9 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. until the end of January 2015. This closure is needed to facilitate the construction of the +60 pedestrian bridge at the National Music Centre.
Southwest
NEW: Sifton Boulevard will be closed between 7 Street S.W. and 8 Street S.W. from Friday, September 26 to Saturday, October 4 to accommodate construction on the Riverdale Avenue Pedestrian Bridge. Traffic will be detoured to 38 Avenue S.W.
NEW: 5 Avenue S.W. between 1 and 2 Street will be down to a single lane going east bound from 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26 until 5 a.m. on Monday, September 29 for utility work.
NEW: 2 Street S.W. will be closed between 5 Avenue S.W. and 6 Avenue S.W. from 7 p.m. on Friday, September 26 until 5 a.m. on Monday, September 29.
NEW: There will be various lane closures on Anderson Road at 14 Street S.W. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until Friday, September 26 to prepare for intersection upgrades. Speed limit reduced to 50 km/h.
Extended: The parking lane on 4 Avenue S.W. from 1 St S.W. west to the Plus 15 will be closed until October 3, due to construction repair on Fifth Ave Place.
The left lane and sidewalk are closed on 11 Avenue S.W. between 11 Street S.W. and 12 Street S.W. until Tuesday, September 30 due to building construction.
