Calgary Road Closures - September 24, 2014

Northeast

NEW: 22 Avenue N.E. will be closed  between Centre Street and 1 Street N.E. from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 25 due to construction.

12 Street N.E. over Memorial Drive will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. until Saturday, September 27 due to bridge work.

There will be various lane closures on 32 Avenue N.E. between 12 Street N.E. to 36 Street N.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily until Tuesday, September 30 for road paving.

The intersection of Skyview Ranch Road and 128 Avenue N.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction until September 30 for utility work.

17 Avenue N.E. and 18 Avenue N.E. are closed at Edmonton Trail until fall due to the Edmonton Trail road reconstruction project.

Northwest

16 Avenue N.W. between Crowchild Trail and 23 Street will have the right lane closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until Friday, September 26 for road work.

Westbound Country Hills Boulevard will be reduced to one lane between Shaganappi Trail and Sarcee Trail from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily until Friday, September 26 due to road work.

19 Street N.W. will be closed between 12 Avenue N.W. and 14 Avenue N.W. from 7 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30 due to utility work.

Symons Valley Road is completely closed between 144 Avenue N.W. and Sage Meadow Circle. This closure is expected to last until December 2014. During this time, all heavy truck traffic will be detoured to Shaganappi Trail, and local traffic will be detoured via Sage Hill Drive to 144 Avenue N.W. Visit the webpage for  further information.

Southeast

NEW: 42 Avenue S.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction at 1 Street S.E. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 25 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, September 26 due to utility work.

There will be various lane closures on 17 Avenue S.E. at Hubalta Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends until Sunday, October 5 due to road work.

The sidewalk on the south side of 7 Avenue S.E. will be closed between 3 Street S.E. and 4 Street S.E. from Saturday, September 29 to Saturday, November 15 due to Central Library construction.

Southbound Highfield Road will be closed between 26 Avenue S.E. and Blackfoot Trail from 7 a.m. on Wednesday, September 17 to 6 p.m. on Monday, November 17 due to flood related slope reconstruction. Motorists are advised to access Blackfoot Trail from 26 Avenue S.E.

27 Street S.E. will be closed between 85 Avenue S.E. and 86 Avenue S.E. from Monday, September 15 to Monday, September 29 due to utility installation.

94 Avenue S.E. will be closed between 52 Street S.E. and 60 Street S.E. until Friday, October 31 due to utility work. At the same time, 60 Street S.E. will be closed between 90 Avenue S.E. and 94 Avenue S.E. Business access will be maintained.

There will be various lane closures on Spiller Road S.E. south of 25 Avenue S.E. starting Tuesday, August 26 until Tuesday, October 21 due to utility work.

4 Street S.E. will be closed between 9 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. until the end of January 2015.  This closure is needed to facilitate the construction of the +60 pedestrian bridge at the National Music Centre.

Southwest

NEW: There will be various lane closures on Anderson Road at 14 Street S.W. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until Friday, September 26 to prepare for intersection upgrades. Speed limit reduced to 50 km/h.

Extended: The parking lane on 4 Avenue S.W. from 1 St SW west to the Plus 15 will be closed until October 3, due to construction repair on Fifth Ave Place.

The left lane and sidewalk are closed on 11 Avenue S.W. between 11 Street S.W. and 12 Street S.W. until Tuesday, September 30 due to building construction.

Alberta Culture Days Kick-Off Celebration – Friday, September 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

  • 8 Avenue S.E. will be closed between 1 Street S.E. and Centre Street.
