Northeast

No planned major closures

Northwest

NEW: Reduced lanes and sidewalk closure at 722 Memorial Drive N.W. on Tuesday, September 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This closure accommodates construction.

NEW: Road closure at 4050 Norford Drive N.W. will see both southbound lanes as well as one northbound lane on 39 Street N.W. closed beginning Tuesday, September 12 at 8 a.m. until Wednesday, September 13 at 6 p.m. This closure accommodates sewer/water tie in.

Reduced lanes and sidewalk closure on eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. east of 12 Street N.W. in the bus lane beginning Monday, September 11 at 9 a.m. until Monday, September 25 at 3 p.m. This closure accommodates construction.

Reduced lanes westbound and eastbound on 16 Avenue and Home Road N.W. beginning Monday, September 11 until Saturday, September 30 daily weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. This closure accommodates construction.

Reduced lanes at 5031 Nosehill Drive N.W. beginning Friday, September 8 until Friday, September 15 daily weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. This closure accommodates construction.

Reduced lanes northbound and westbound Edgemont Boulevard N.W. and Edgebrook Drive N.W. beginning Thursday, September 7 until Saturday, September 16 weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. This closure accommodates construction work.

Reduced lanes – right lane and parking lane closures – on Bowness Road N.W. from 61 Street to 66 Street N.W. daily weekdays beginning on Wednesday, August 23 until Wednesday, September 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This closure is to accommodate construction.

16 Avenue N.W. at 29 Street N.W. / Uxbridge Drive N.W. will see various lane closures until the end of October, 2017 as part of an intersection improvement project.

16 Ave NW / Bowfort Road Interchange Improvements

  • Daily lane reductions on Bowfort Road N.W. and 16 Avenue N.W. through the project limits from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until further notice. For more information on this project, visit the project page.

16 Avenue and Home Road N.W. Upgrades

  • Please note that the following lane closures are in effect until the end of September
    • Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.: The right-hand lane will be closed in each direction.
    • Saturdays from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.: The right-hand lane will be closed in each direction
  • To avoid delays please consider using Bowness Road N.W. as an alternate route to bypass the construction area

Southeast

Reduced lanes on 68 Avenue S.E. between 52 and 54 Street S.E. beginning Friday, September 8 until Tuesday, September 12 at various hours ranging from 9 a.m. on Friday to 6 a.m. on Tuesday. This closure accommodates paving.

Reduced southbound lanes on Centre Street between Riverfront Avenue S.E. and Samis Road N.E. beginning Saturday, September 9 until Friday, September 15 daily weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and weekends from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. This closure accommodates overhead utility work.

Reduced lanes on 72 Avenue S.E. between 40 Street and 44 Street S.E. beginning Monday, September 11 at 6 a.m. until Thursday, September 14 at 7 p.m. This closure accommodates water services work.

Reduced lanes at Heritage Drive S.E. and 79 Avenue S.E. beginning Monday, September 11 until Friday, September 15 daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This closure accommodates traffic signal work.

Reduced lanes on southbound McKenzie Lake Boulevard S.E. from Mt. Sparrowhawk Landing S.E. to Stoney Trail S.E. beginning on Monday, September 11 to Friday, September 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Speeds will be reduced through the construction zone. This closure accommodates underground utility work.

Reduced lanes on 114 Avenue S.E. and 29 Street S.E. originally scheduled for completion Thursday, August 24 has been extended until Thursday, September 28 daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This closure accommodates transportation infrastructure work.

Reduced lanes on 18 Street S.E. north of Douglas Glen Boulevard S.E. beginning Friday, September 1 until Friday, November 3 daily weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. This closure accommodates transportation infrastructure work.

Road closure on 6 Avenue S.E. between 5 Street and Confluence Way S.E. has been extended until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September 12. Drivers are asked to use alternate routes and expect delays. This closure accommodates underground utility installation.

Reduced lanes southbound Centre Street S between Riverfront Avenue S.E. and Samis Road N.E. beginning Saturday, August 26 until Tuesday, September 19. Closure begins daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays and from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. This closure accommodates overhead utility work.

Reduced lane northbound on 18 Street S.E. between Riverglen Drive S.E. and Riverbirch Crescent S.E. beginning on Monday, August 14 to Monday, November 6 weekdays only from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Closure is to accommodate construction.

Reduced lane eastbound on 17 Avenue S.E. between 19 Street S.E. and Deerfoot Trail S.E. on Cushing Bridge beginning on Thursday, August 10 at 7 a.m. to Tuesday, October 31 at 7 p.m. Speeds will be reduced to 50 km/h through the work area. Flagman will be onsite to direct traffic. Closure is to accommodate construction.

Reduced lane southbound on 18 Street S.E. between Douglas Glen Boulevard S.E. and 24 Street S.E. beginning on Thursday, August 3 to Monday, September 18 weekdays daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Speeds will be reduced to 50 km/h through the work area. Closure is to accommodate construction.

Southwest

Road closure on 25 Avenue S.W. between 19A Street and 20A Street S.W. beginning Wednesday, September 6 at 8 a.m. until Wednesday, September 13 at 7 p.m. The detour route will be 23 Avenue S.W. This closure accommodates underground utility work.

Reduced lanes on 17 Avenue S.W. between 2 Street and 4 Street S.W. beginning Tuesday, September 5 at 7 a.m. until Thursday, September 21 at 7 a.m. This closure accommodates transportation infrastructure work.

Road closure on 17 Avenue S.W. between 1 Street S.E. and 2 Street S.E. with closure on 1 Street S.W. between 15 Avenue S.W. and 17 Avenue S.W. beginning on Saturday, August 5 at 7 a.m. to Sunday, October 1 at 7 p.m. Restricted parking will also be in place on 17 Avenue S.E. with vehicle detours indicated via signage. Closures are to accommodate construction.

17 Avenue S. reconstruction project

  • Reduced lanes westbound on 17 Avenue S.E. between 1 Street S.E. and Macleod Trail S.E. beginning on Monday, July 17 at 7 a.m. to Sunday, October 1 at 7 p.m. Although closed to through westbound traffic, access to local traffic and businesses will remain. Parking restrictions will be in place through work area. Vehicle and pedestrian detours will be indicated via signage. Closure is to accommodate construction.
  • Reduced lanes westbound on 17 Avenue S.E. between Centre Street S.E. and 1 Street S.E. beginning on Monday, July 17 at 7 a.m. to Sunday, October 1 at 7 p.m. Although closed to through westbound traffic, access to local traffic and businesses will remain. Parking restrictions will be in place through work area. Vehicle and pedestrian detours will be indicated via signage. Closure is to accommodate construction.
  • Road closure on 17 Avenue S.E. between 1 Street S.W. and Centre Street S.E. beginning on Monday, July 17 at 7 a.m. to Sunday, October 1 at 7 p.m. Access will be open to local traffic only. Vehicle detours will be indicated via signage.

Alberta Transportation

Southwest Ring Road Project
