Calgary Road Closures - November 28, 2014

Southwest

NEW:  Beginning Monday, December 1 at 9 a.m. until Wednesday, December 10, Richmond Road and 37 Street will have multiple lane closures for utility work.

Southeast

NEW: The right lane will be closed and the speed limit reduced to 60 km/h on westbound Glenmore Trail east of Blackfoot Trail from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, November 30 to allow for bridge deck repairs.

NEW: From 8 a.m. on Friday, November 28 until Friday, December 26, 9 Avenue S.E. between 3 and 4 Street will have the right lane and sidewalk closed for utility work.

There will be various single lane closures in all directions at the intersection of Peigan Trial and 52 Street S.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Monday, November 24 to Friday, November 28 for signal work. The speed limits at intersection will remain at 50 km/h due to continued construction activities.

The west sidewalk of 3 Street S.E. between 7 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. is closed for construction until February 2015. 

3 Street S.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 6 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily until the end of January 2015. The sidewalk will also be closed during this time.

UPDATE:  Single lane closures will continue on Glenmore Trail west of 18 Street SE until mid-January, to allow for the City of Calgary’s Water Services’ water main upgrade project- under the Graves Bridge on Glenmore Trail over the Bow River.

The two left lanes will be closed on westbound Glenmore Trail west of 18 Street S.E. from 8 p.m. Friday, December 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, December 7 to allow for work related to the watermain upgrade project using the Graves Bridge. Glenmore Trail is already part of a construction zone with a reduced speed limit of 60 km/h that will remain in effect 24/7 until project is completed.

4 Street S.E. is closed between 9 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. until the end of January 2015.  This closure is needed to facilitate the construction of the +60 pedestrian bridge at the National Music Centre.

Special Events

Auburn Bay Santa Claus Parade

Sunday, December 7,  5 – 6:30 p.m.

Parade route runs from Auburn Bay Community Association, west-bound to Auburn Bay Boulevard, to Auburn Bay Avenue, then to Auburn Spring Boulevard. This will be a rolling closure with CPS presence.
