Calgary road closures - May 11, 2015

Northeast

NEW: The left lane of southbound and left lane of northbound 52 Street N.E. at 26 Avenue N.E. is closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12. This closure accommodates utility work.

The right lane of 64 Avenue N.E. between 9 Street N.E. and 11 Street N.E. is closed beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 11. This closure continues until 3 p.m. on Friday, May 22 and accommodates construction.

Northbound 36 Street N.E. is reduced to a single left lane between 24 Avenue N.E. and 25 Avenue N.E. beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, May 4. This closure continues until 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 24 and accommodates construction.

2 Street N.E. between 5 Avenue N.E. and 9 Avenue N.E. will have various lane closures beginning at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29. These closures will continue until Monday, June 15 and accommodate utility upgrade work.

Northwest

NEW: The westbound lanes of 3 Avenue N.W. between 32 Street N.W. and 33 Street N.W. will be closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12. A two-way traffic setup will be installed in the eastbound lanes and this closure accommodates construction.

NEW: The left lane of both the eastbound and westbound Airport Tunnel will be completely closed between 10 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12. This closure accommodates traffic work.

8 Avenue N.W. between 16 Street N.W. and 17 Street N.W. is closed beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, May 11. This closure continues until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12 and accommodates utility construction.

144 Avenue N.W. at 14 Street N.W. is closed beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 7. This closure continues until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20 and accommodates utility installation.

Country Hills Boulevard N.W. east of Rocky Ridge Road N.W. will be reduced to a single lane in each direction beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 4. This construction project continues until the end of June.

Southbound 10 Street N.W. at 2 Avenue N.W. is reduced to a single left lane. This closure remains in place until the end of May and accommodates new development construction.

Eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. will be reduced to one lane east of Sarcee Trail N.W. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily on weekdays until the end of May due to utility work.

Southeast

The right lanes of eastbound and westbound Southland Drive S.E. at Fairmount Drive S.E. are closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. beginning on Monday, May 11. This closure continues daily during these hours until Friday, May 15, and again on Tuesday, May 19 and Wednesday, May 20. This closure accommodates traffic signal work.

The exit ramp allowing u-turns from southbound 1 Street S.E. to northbound Macleod Trail S.E., north of 25 Avenue S.E., will be partially closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily beginning on Monday, May 11. This closure continues daily during these hours until Friday, May 15 and allows preliminary work for the Victoria Trail Bridge rehabilitation project. Confluence Way S.E. between 6 Avenue S.E. and Riverfront Avenue S.E. will be closed beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, May 4. This closure remains in place until 3:30 on Wednesday, May 13 and accommodates construction.

The existing westbound left lane closure and 60 km/h speed reduction will remain in place 24/7 until mid-May across the Graves Bridge over the Bow River on Glenmore Trail west of 18 Street S.E. Multiple westbound lane closures will be allowed during evenings and weekends. The eastbound right lane will be closed and the speed reduced to 60 km/h on the Graves Bridge, Beginning Monday, May 11 and remains in place 24/7 until mid-June. This is the continuation of the Water Services new water main installation, using bridge structure as above ground support to cross Bow River.

The right lane and adjacent sidewalk of westbound 9 Avenue S.E. at 4 Street S.E. is closed beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, April 30. This closure remains in place until 6 p.m. on Monday, May 25 and accommodates construction.

Various lane and sidewalk closures on 9 Avenue S.E. between 3 Street S.E. and 5 Street S.E. daily between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. beginning Wednesday, April 29. These closures will continue during these hours daily until Monday, May 25 and accommodate construction.

94 Avenue S.E. between 52 Street S.E. and 60 Street S.E. will be closed beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, April 20. The closure will remain in place until 8.pm. on Friday, July 31 and accommodates new road construction.

4 Street S.E. is reduced to one lane in each direction between 9 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. until September 30. This closure is needed to facilitate the construction of the +60 pedestrian bridge at the National Music Centre.

Southwest

NEW: The north lane of 12 Avenue S.W. between 5 Street S.W. and 11 Street S.W. is permanently closed beginning on May 4 due to cycle track construction.

Update: 12 Avenue S.W. between 28 Street S.W. and 32 Street S.W. will be closed beginning at 6 a.m. on Friday, May 1. This closure will continue until 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 31 and accommodates sanitary line upgrades.

5 Street S.W. between 2 Avenue S.W. and 3 Avenue S.W. will be closed beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, May 4. This closure will continue until 7 p.m. on Monday, June 8 and accommodates +15 construction between Eau Claire Tower and Centennial Place.

Southbound 1 Street S.W. will be reduced to one lane between 9 Avenue S.W. and 10 Avenue S.W. starting Sunday, January 25 to accommodate the 1 Street S.W. underpass enhancement project. At the same time the sidewalk on southbound 1 Street S.W. will be closed. Pedestrians should use the sidewalk on the east side of 1 Street S.W. These closures will be in place until the work on the west side of the underpass is complete.
