Calgary road closures - March 4, 2015
NEW: The left lane on southbound Metis Trail N.E. will be closed at 128 Avenue N.E. beginning Thursday, March 5. This closure will be in place between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily, except on Saturdays when restrictions will be in place between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. This closure will accommodate utility work.
Update: 27 Street N.E. south of 32 Avenue N.E. is closed beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, March 2. The closure will remain in place until 9 p.m. Thursday, March 5 and accommodates water utility work.
The right lane will be closed on eastbound 64 Avenue N.E. at 9 Street N.E. between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. beginning Monday, March 2. This closure will continue through the week until Friday, March 6 and will accommodate utility repairs.
The left lane on westbound 16 Avenue N.E. at Center Street will be reduced between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. beginning Monday, March 2. The closure will continue through the week until Friday, March 6 and will accommodate utility repairs.
14 Street N.W. at 14 Avenue N.W. is reduced to a single lane in both directions for emergency water main repair. This closure remains in place until 8 p.m. Friday, March 6.
Eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. will be reduced to one lane east of Sarcee Trail N.W. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily on weekdays until the end of March due to utility work.
NEW: Southland Drive S.E. east of Blackfoot Trail S.E. will be reduced to a single left lane between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Thursday, March 5. The closure will accommodate traffic study.
NEW: Southland Drive S.E. at Blackfoot Trail S.E. will be reduced to a single right lane between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 5. Additionally, the left lane on southbound Blackfoot Trail S.E. at Southland Drive S.E. will also be closed during this time. This closure will accommodate traffic study.
Westbound 17 Avenue S.E. east of 100 Street S.E. will be reduced to a single lane between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. beginning Wednesday, March 4. This closure will remain in place until Friday, March 6 and will accommodate construction.
3 Street S.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 6 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily until the middle of March 2015. The sidewalk will also be closed during this time.
4 Street S.E. is reduced to one lane in each direction between 9 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. until the September 30. This closure is needed to facilitate the construction of the +60 pedestrian bridge at the National Music Centre.
Single lane closures will continue on Glenmore Trail west of 18 Street SE until March 8, to allow for the City of Calgary’s Water Services’ water main upgrade project- under the Graves Bridge on Glenmore Trail over the Bow River. Glenmore Trail is already part of a construction zone with a reduced speed limit of 60 km/h that will remain in effect 24/7 until project is completed.
The west sidewalk of 3 Street S.E. between 7 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. is closed for construction until February 2015.
Southbound 1 Street S.W. will be reduced to one lane between 9 Avenue S.W. and 10 Avenue S.W. starting Sunday, January 25 to accommodate the 1 Street S.W. underpass enhancement project. At the same time the sidewalk on southbound 1 Street S.W. will be closed. Pedestrians should use the sidewalk on the east side of 1 Street S.W. These closures will be in place until the work on the west side of the underpass is complete.
